4.10 SBC is boot looping on me as well. Can I simply restore from my nandroid to go back to Xplod RLS1 without the Tiamat kernel? Do nandroids backup the kernel?

yes, they do. so if you made a nandroid backup before flashing the kernel then you can just restore back and you should be ok.

This is a perfect example of why we nandroid before we flash :)
Xplod E4G RLS1 is back up and running. I do hope someone alerts the Tiamat devs, though, I loved that kernel in CM7.

After using destroyer & eod, I was kind of turned off to aosp roms. Now that I've tried xplode I'm changing that opinion... Awesome rom! Any word on the kernel issues with it, though? I'm thinking of trying savaged zen, not sure if I'd know how to tackle boot loop problems, though.

works well with tiamat, just not with the latest 4.1 sbc kernel. bootloop issues are easy, just pull the battery out and go into recovery and either nandroid back or flash something else. i have not tried savage zen on this rom.

Sweet. If it's that easy to back out I'll give it a try now. Just wipe the cache & davlic before flashing new kernel, yes?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, been searching lots with little luck: if I wipe my sd before flashing (w/ bu, of course) does it eliminate my ext 3 partition? Would I want/need to re-partition to fully format card? Also, just learning the ropes of using terminal emulator to utilize dta2sd, lots of suggestions out there but I'm having issues finding out why i'd want to set certain values (ie. swappy value), or even what the heck these things actually do. Not looking for easy answers, willing to read up, my digging is just coming up short. Thanks in advance for any help/direction.

wiping will not delete your partitions. i do not think that even wiping sd card will delete the partitions. when you wipe sd ext in recovery, it just wipes what is in the sd ext and not the partition itself. the only way to get rid of partitions is to reformat the card.

Brain fart, never even thought to check out DT page, just found, some questions answered. Still would love to see a definitive guide to use of all a2sd values plus commands in terminal emulator. Anyone know if such a thing exists?

Er, think I meant : partition values & a2sd commands. It's like learning a whole new language!

well partition values set swap to 0 (swap is just another form of memory that android can use. however, since if you set it on your card, the os will use the swap which from what i know will slow down your phone.) and the values for the partitions just refers to the size and i would choose either 1024 (1gb) or 2048 (2g) depending on the size of your card.

and as far as a2sd commands that is what dark tremor is for. you enter those commands that i linked earlier in terminal emulator.
