Root ROOTING For Dummies Guide.....the Gingerbread Edition

can someone please help me it keeps saying beta key is invalid i tried EVERYTHING copy paste / redownload revolutionary i going desperate please someone help :/

Did you download it onto your pc or your phone?
If you downloaded it onto your phone, use astro or estrongs file manager and move it to the top most folder on your SD card, don't put in in any folders.

just highlight the beta key, right-click and choose copy (or do the ctrl+c combo) then at the top of the Revolutionary window, right-click and choose paste, it should accept it then. Good luck.
 
i ve done it about a hundred times it still saying the beta key is invalid :/ i am sorry for beeing annoying with this but i am new :S

I downloaded it to my phone I can see it when I'm looking at my card on the computer. Right now I waiting for Flashing Recovery over Fastboot... sorry if I sound dumb but are they apps or how do I do that I'm new to this!
 
yup i typed it by my self and also copied it but still it doesnt work :/ i think i ll just throw my phone on the wall and root once and for all lol..

Is it possible you're entering the serial number incorrectly? Maybe copy and paste the number from the app to the website?

Edit: Nevermind, doesn't look like this is possible...
 
This worked for me. But now if I wanted to reset my phone again so I could play with this some more how would I get back to the default settings. I want to show my neighbor how to do this to his phone.

not sure what you mean by no evidence. all sprint has to do is check if you have s-off. as far as unrooting goes. that is a good question. i wonder if unrvoked s-on tool will work or not. i think that it does.

edit; it does not work actually. there is no s-on tool at the moment. but you can run a ruu to get you a stock recovery and a stock rom.
 
I mount USB Storage, tell it to mount SD card. When I click on the SD card it says "please insert a disk in removable drive G"

are you asking if you can unroot your phone or not? i believe urevoked s-on tool should work, but i'm not positive.
