no worries so did you gain root yet?
Okay, you should try to put that file back on the root (top level) of your sd card.
Also everyone new to rooting should check out this thread.

It's for the old rooting method, but the info about being rooted remains. (nandroids, roms, kernels...)

Haha I'm glad we have root, glad my phones rooted with CWM and now its time to find a sick ROM lol
lol, yeah i caught that just now. I was trying to add both roms/kernels and rooting dummies along with this thread to my sig. but I gave up with no html formatting it just looked weird. No idea how evomattnc did it... lol.wrong link you had the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/284413-roms-kernels-download-page.html sticky. i fixed it for you.
ok that is good to know. i will have to do some more research on how to unroot the phone. i wonder if it is just as simple as running a ruu. project for tomorrow me thinks.
Tried that too. Ran RUU_SuperSonic_GB_Sprint_WWE_4.24.651.1_Radio_2.15.00.05.02_NV_2.15_release_199233_signed and it still didn't seem to reset the bootloader back to default for some reason
Is there more clearer steps for these? i dont get it. and what is this file for? "su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed"
"8.next we need to flash the superuser file
9.select recovery in bootloader
10.select install .zip from sdcard
11.find the superuser file and flash it"
it is so you can get root permissions for your apps and such. and what part do you not understand?

step number 10 and 11. is the file they are talking about is "su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed"?
yes it is. i will make that more clearly in the guide.
i did this guide in a few minutes as we got news of the rooting process. so forgive me if it is a little crude. i will write a little more detailed version sometime tonight.
sorry for being a noob, but how do you even put super user on your sd card? and if i go to from the Revolutionary Menu > install zip from sdcard > apply /sdcard/update.zip > Yes - Install /sdcard/update.zip is this the file you are talking about?

You just need to copy and paste the file to the root (top level) of your phone's SD card.
I backed up twice and read the Rooting for dummies guide 10 times through to make sure I didn't mess things up. One thing that I was worried about was making sure to backup the WiMax keys so I don't ever perm lose 4g. I noticed however this backup did not leave me with a WiMax.img. Am I missing something?
Sorry if this is the wrong area, but it kinda does pertain to the steps posted by OP.
