Root ROOTING For Dummies

Is there a CPU app for free on the market i wanna start savign my battery

Your best bet is OverClockWidget. But there are some requirements before you can use it.

You have to have a Custom NON-Sense ROM. So the stock HTC SENSE will not work since there is no way to disable the Perflock.

Elaborate on what you mean when you say the pc36img did not work. Also what hboot do you have? If you are getting the "main version is older" error, it is because you are usinging a pc36img that was extracted from a previous ruu with a different hboot. I posted some other pc36img 's a page or two back.

Yes that is the exact error I got. Hboot 2.10 I believe is the number.

You really think posting this four times in different threads was necessary (one of which was even in the eris forum )? If you want to unroot, follow the instructions in the OP. Flash a PC36IMG that matches your hboot version.

Oooookay Akazabam calm down..... What on Gods green earth is the OP. Do I simply place it on the root of my sd card...then go from there?

Freezing them is certainly safer. If you freeze something you shouldn't have, you just unfreeze it. You should always make a nandroid backup before either freezing or removing apps. The only real benefit to removing apps over freezing them is that you reclaim a little bit of space. If you insist of removing apps instead of freezing them, move them, for example, to the sd card. Don't just delete them. See the list in the OP for what is safe to remove.

Sorry, I came off kind of rude. Never feel reluctant to spread the word about something you've discovered (just maybe not in a bunch of threads ;)). I gather you were trying to unroot. Did the instructions in this thread not work? It's generally considered the best way to unroot and is very well documented. I'm kind of surprised to hear the instructions you gave actually worked, what with it being an older RUU.
