Root Rooting questions/TacoROOT issues

if you cant see let me knmwo i well well here i well just tel you what sin the file


in the android folder i have placed the

adb
flash image
adbwinapi
fastboot
recovery image



should i remove the unlock code file and a file ffrom teh taco root
 
Hey Ocn The last 4 evos i rooted gave the same errors mikemike is getting with tacoroot. I had to do capts method. I have no explanation as to why.
Just thought I would give you a heads up because tacoroot was my method of choice.
 
yeah taco root works for some while it does not work on others. i think that it is the fact that taco root is very unstable and hard to predict.
 
k and ocn why would i be doing a new recovery with the ra recov when i already didi it with the dev meth is my phone getting wiped again with cap meth to were i have to re do the recov
 
well i havent started yet i am going ot do capt. to day just that i was reading the steps and it said that iwell need the file and it well be used in this step for example it says this


unrevoked.

The rooting process with unrevoked will also not be covered in this thread, as it is well-documented.

Files you'll need

- RA-Recovery - USED IN STEP 3 (there are 3 different versions you can use - I recommend this one):

- Superuser 3.07 - USED IN STEP 4 (Attached to post #2 - md5: fc462fa0630379edbe10006b1d19d9b1)

- flash_image binary - USED IN STEP 9 (Attached to Post #2- md5: 97B64A4C8CB22E39F79062402D26A126)

so if i need thows files in thows steps then that takes me back to my first question

and here as i am reading the steps it is asking for this part on step 3



3) Install custom recovery (previously downloaded from OP) using fastboot

so it is asking for a custom reco or a androed flasher
 
on on step 3 how do i get to that command window that is showing cuz it dose nto tell you in the step were or how to get to that window

it asuming that it is already there an running like in other steps or guides it tell you to go here and open the comm window

and sents i am abeginner would it be easer to use the android flasher cuz it looks fromt eh pics on teh guide easy to use

if you have recovery then you can obviously just skip that step. capt's guide assumes you did not do the htcdev part yet. since you did....just skip it.
 
and now it says as ia m reading that in this step

4) Boot into recovery, flash latest superuser (3.07, with 3.0.3.2 binary - previously downloaded from OP)
NOTE: If you get an error when flashing this zip file (i.e. signature verification failed), there is an option to "Toggle Signature Verification" under the "Flash zip menu". Do that, and then try flashing again.

then a pic shows up on this step and says this in teh pic

and step 5

it says Reboot device, enable USB Debugging (Settings -> Applications -> Development), and disable "Fast Boot".

so is it going ot ask me that after it is done or do i asum after i confirm to the step for i pull the bat and restart it or what thsis is very verg

if you have superuser already.....being already unlocked and flashed on a custom rom(correct?....mikg?) then you have su.....check your app drawer for superuser app.

step 5 is where you want to start if you have su.

k i tryed doing one of the unrevoked guides and ti say that my phoen software is not suported or somthing like that so now what do i do
 
please advise what guide to use cuse i have been looking at all of them and they all taking me to teh same guide to anotther same guide
 
ok i think i need to be were i need ot be i have one more question when i reflash during the unrevoked3 meth it say i well be instailing clockwork mod is there a way i can put the nandroed instead of that clockwork or do i need ot put the clockwork on there first . and then reflash the nandrod ru file to get the nandroed recov
 
I have heard here and there the unrevoked does not work....don't quote me on that. The evo's I have rooted, I have gone the revolutionary route....meaning that in step 10, I used the alternate PC36IMG...not Froyo.

I think Ocn may know if Unrevoked is working or not.
Or, you can install the PC36IMG file and then s-off with revolutionary. :)
