Setting up CM6

Geez, what a nightmare! I pulled the battery, again, hit power & home and got a white screen with green that asked if I wanted to clear the phone by pressing one button (send?) I couldn't identify, or another button for which I didn't understand the phone's term to cancel this process. I pressed a button. It said the phone was wiped. Then CM6 splash-screen boot-loop.
Pulled the battery, again (I really, really, REALLY hate doing that, signals a failure of the process), then was somehow able to get to recovery (maybe by holding the home key before power?).

When I finally get this freaking thing running, I want to GO ALL THE WAY! How the hell do these uncapped kernals work, and what the hell is jit??!! I want POWER, etc.

I want to make the heartache worth it, y'know?

Sorry, I don't mean to be so aggressively demanding. You've all been very helpful here. I just want to make this a success. I do appreciate all of the help I've gotten, particularly from andygu3.

I wish I had a second hero, just so I could experiment without the fear. But, that's not gonna happen.

Anyways, thanks!

I tried moving apps to sd, but I can't access the app after it's been moved. It's showing the difference in kb when I move, but nothing works when it is moved. Any thoughts?

I'm running the 6.1.0 RC1 and I'm having data connections problems ever since I rebooted the phone this morning. Anyone else experience this? It's weird too because sometime I can use the facebook app and everything will update fine, but I can't connect to any webpage and when I try to use the gmail app I get a 'No Connection' error. Has anyone seen this before?

I just flashed the newest CFS kernel, and now my Over clock widget won't clock in higher than 480. Before I was running 768, not problem. Ideas?

Problem Solved. There are acutally newer Kernels available than posted above. These are 11/07/2010 Releases

I got CM6!!
I've most of the apps from my stock, too!
Still don't know how to REALLY use Titanium backup. Still don't fully understand ROM manager.

If you're curious as to the process of how I got this mother to work, feel free to message me.

I'm sure happy I backed-up every iteration change on my baby laptop.

Here's a question: How do I customize my lock-screen. It reads, "Sprint". I don't use Sprint, just their tubes, through Credo (who have the decency to not emblazon their brand on any part of my phone). I'd like to replace that word, "Sprint", with one of my own (not an obscenity, nor socialist jargon).

How do I customize something so slight?

Thanks, in advance, as usual.

I've searched and found nothing, hopefully someone will chime in:)

It's not a huge deal. I should find a link on how to entirely customize the look & feel with a special home-brew theme (Invader Zim or WALL-E is what I'd like). Maybe someone can provide a link to school myself?

Like I said in another thread, both roms have some great features:D:D Both have their positives and negatives but I have not found many negatives to either, that's for sure;)

Stupid question how do I get a 30 day calendar like the one from sprint before I rooted into CM6?
Also, is their a way to have TI backup reinstall my apps with out having to say install, done for every app?

Any way to replace the three button dock in CM6? (phone, apps, internet)

marshall there are Tons of calenders in the market....go explore -
I don't use them...soooooo...
TB will restore them if you make a backup -
Don posted a TB video on a thread around here...think it was the I lost my superuser again thread.....

YES - Dowload LP and delete ADW....that way you can cistomize to you liking.

You should be able to change the 3 button dock in the ADW settings.

TB will back up all apps when you set the schedule, otherwise you can back them up manually, one by one

If you disable the dots beside the dockbar, then enable the action buttons under ADW settings. After that just add any app you want to the home screen and then drag it down to the desired position you like on the dockbar (except the middle trash icon, you have to keep the app drawer). Hope this helps!

Watch the video I posted, you create a schedule and a batch, and in the batch set up it gives you the install options ;)
