Shipping date speculation

At this point I cannot see how anyone can't blame Google. They shipped to stores and gave them a release date of the 12th, then put out a sales halt afterwords. Why even ship to B&M stores, they really should have taken care of the people who pre-ordered before they even bothered shipping to stores.

As soon as I get mine in hand I am calling Google, they honestly should compensate those that pre-ordered, because we all did in good faith expecting the play store orders to ship before the device was out in stores.

They really screwed up this launch, and although I love the products and services Google provides, this business practice leads me to question how much they value customer loyalty.

My CC finally shows the payment hold again. I really think Google outsourced the order processing and shipping. There may be no shipping notice or at least a significant delay. Google is learning how to do this... :rolleyes:
 
I think come Monday I'll definitely try my luck at HMV... I'm nowhere near the top of the pile for play store orders anyway, so I may as well cancel and save the shipping costs if I can.

I just did the same. Walked in and walked right out with one. I'll be refusing shipment on the Play Store one.

And of an interesting side note, I'll be watching the Transformers movie on my Google TV. Second interesting side note, seems 14 songs were added to my Google Music account after I activated my tablet.
 
I'd be interested to know if anyone in the UK who ordered from the play store, reguardless of order date, has seen any kind of movement. I don't think I've seen anyone mention it yet,
 
I just received my shipping notice!!! Shipping from Google, Inc. 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, CA 94043. UPS tracking info, but nothing registers yet. Expect to have it no later than next Wednesday.!

If you received it today, why do you assume Wednesday?
 
Ok, yet another side note. It seems that Google Wallet on devices are tied to those specific devices and it doesn't talk to "home" at all. I wasn't sure what would happen if I activated Wallet on the N7 in addition to my GNex. It acts like a totally different account and makes a completely new pre-paid card.....which means.... another $10 bonus on a pre-paid card to use from your N7 with Google Wallet.

Word on the street is if it shipped today, then you can maybe expect Monday because they process, not ship, on Saturday. So Friday Saturday skip Sunday and then maybe Monday? :D

If you think 8gb (which will actually be 6gb) won't be enough you might as well get what you will be happy with. Check with your local Sam's Club stores.
 
Trouble is that being only WiFi you may not always have cloud access.

That said, I cut my Xoom off 3G months ago and have mostly survived. I did need to tether from my phone 3 times, but on the whole I was OK.

I'm going to get a 16GB one for the wife's birthday - but don't tell her that :) I'd just hate to pull the trigger and not go the whole hog.

I'm still waiting on the number. From what I can tell they are doing it alphabetically because people from all order dates are getting them. They are starting with Q, then going to C, then R, then DSU .. aw well.
 
With regards to anyone that ordered through Staples....I have been told by two different CSR that they have to manually key in all the " canceled" orders and generate new order numbers. What pisses me off is that on another forum I am following one person already got their new order number email from Staples and they ordered 24 hours after I did.... so the imputing manually does not seem to be chronological.

They also said that shipping/delivery ( from Staples) starts Monday and most customers should have their device by weeks end.
