I am trying to use this app, antek, to uninstall the stock apps on my phone. It took one off and then I keep getting this error: Cannot grant write access on your system. Please check NAND unlocked on your phone. Where is that???:confused:

With 2.2 you will need to use Root Explorer to change from R/O to R/W to delete the bloatware.

So sad, I removed the bloatware I could find and it still did not free up much room on the internal drive. Bummed that I cannot download more stuff I want to use!!

I was reading up on that, I might have to try it, but since I messed up my phone this morning my accidently deleting swype, now I have no way to input anything in my phone, no keyboard is available.:eek: I thouhgt I backed it up, but did not. If anyone has the swype files for Metro phones, could you send me a link to install it back on my phone? I have no way to even search for it online. Sometimes I am too quick for my own good!!:confused:
 
i instald a root om my phone.
so its rebooted and instald IT SAID. but one thing i notest that instald very fast.
so its done i reboot
and then it tries to load but it doesn't load ferther then the screen of my cerier (life:)(belarussian company))
and after +/- 2 min it reboot but doesen't load again :mad:

can some one help me cuzzz I LOVE THIS PHONE :D(haha only 150euro)

Did you delete the Android keyboard too? If not, long press on any text box, and select input method. If you deleted both keyboards you might have to get one from the market on your computer and put it on your phone that way so you can use your phone. Swype isn't like a regular app. You have to go to their website and sign up for the beta.

I believe it's 2.3.5... I could check but I'm feeling lazy tonight. ;-)

EDIT: 2.3.5 is the android version... kernel is 2.6.29-perf icarus@chaos #1
 
read up before flashing but there are many great roms for huawei ascend just know some still have bugs but they are all great in there own way id recomend cyanogenMod7.2 which is android 2.3.5 and runs great have fun and be sure to at least read thru the steps in the guides before starting and you will be fine
 
Whats a good rom to use? I want all the bloatware off and what not, does it matter that I updated to 2.2.2?
 
Nope. Half the people here are running Gingerbread 2.3 and we all came from 2.2 (Metro Users) and 2.1 (Cricket users and Metro users)

I personally am running 2.3.4 on my Ascend and Gmash up there is running 2.3.5

Your safe. And you will actually like your Ascend now. I HATED mine. Flashed it and now I love the lil guy.

what is the best to run? Fastest with no Metro crap all over it, I actually like the phone but I am sure it will be MUCH better now.
 
It just depends on what your phone likes the best or what you like the best. I would go ahead and try out CM7.2 07282011 on the link I posted for PlayfulGod's CM7 builds. None of those builds on either of those links have the useless metropcs BS apps. Cm7.2 is Gingerbread 2.3.5 and you can over clock the processor of the phone to 710Mhz (If your phone can handle it. Some can some cant some can handle higher) which will make it even faster/snappier.
