welll... i have no prob taking you through it... but i do think you should at least wait till the software update on the 14th to see if it works...
 
I am having some major problems using QPST configuration. At the bottom, it says 0 phones and 0 ports. Then when I go to the ports tab and click "add new port," windows closes QPST! It closes every time and seems like my phone isn't being recognized. Do I need to have it on charge mode or mass storage mode? Anything else I can be missing?? Thanks.

It's been ages since I touched qpst...but try doing ##diag# and see if your phone is recognized then

yep, I did that but it still does nothing. It also brings up a weird image on my phone immediately after I do dial that #. Not sure if that's what it should do or not..
 
Would I get any boot loops or error when I get to 1.04 hboot and flash the stock Rom like power Rom or dexoed Rom or any stock Rom

you shouldn't get any boot loops... im running mobster right now and its stock based... i have been through most of the roms here (midnight/midnight s/harmonia/paranoid android/gangnam cm10/chad's cm10/etc.) and i've always had eng hboot...

Alright and thanks man :) and are they any warning changing to hboot 1.04 my phone is not activated and I'm afraid somethin goes wrong
 
Stock and stock deodexed will not run on the older Hboot.
Most of our roms used bits from Sprint guys who tweaked them to work on the older hboot that they were using. The pure stock rom will not work.

You can however put back the newer hboot when done and they will work with whatever radio you choose.
 
Screw waiting for the 11/14 update. Screw tryin to turn this phone into an Evo 3d. I contacted the guy I bought the phone from and he refunded my money. I got myself a Samsung Reverb. That was my first and LAST HTC Phone. :|
 
So after completing the turn your evo v 4g into an evo 3d procedure, can I actually flash evo 3d roms from xda? What chance is there of bricking and what should I look out for? There are just a lot more rom options in the evo 3d world for roms than for evo v 4g's. Thanks.

You can flash evo 3d ROMs now if u wanted to, well just the ones that run on the 1.57 Hboot that comes with our phones. The eng 1.04 bootloader will allow you to flash gingerbread ROMs and CM9/CM10/MIUI/AOKP/AOSP and ROMs that aren't based on the latest sprint ICS base. BTW MMS will more than likely not work on any sprint ROM unless u use gosms pro or manually change some settings, there's a few threads that talk about it

So the eng 1.04 hboot is compatible with all those types of ROMs? If a certain rom said to be on____ hboot, would it be the same for the 3d and evo V?
 
Success! Doing S-off was a little scary but I've followed all instructions carefully and everything's working much better after flashing all the files over Stronger signals and less flux!

I have Harmonia (Fan of it since my Optimus V) and I must say while flashing the radio and PRI, Harmonia would bootloop with 1.04 Hboot installed. I kinda bypassed that using a USB microSD drive and continued to flash the Radio and PRI by booting straight into the bootloader, flashing the file and letting it reboot after. I pulled the battety out AS soon as the phone turned back off before rebooting during that bootloop state it was in. After getting The Radio and PRI files flashed I reinstalled Juopunut's Hboot and alas, Harmonia booted fine again and I was able proceed updating the PRL.

Thank you Leslie Ann for this tutorial and Harmonia. My phones (nor my girlfriend's) wouldn't be as efficient without your work.:D

I got my phone for less than a week. I did all of this, meaning, rooting, s-off and all of this stuff, even the recommended part. (i pretty much did the whole thread). This is suppose to cure the radio shortage right? If so today i was texting and i stopped getting text until i resend my text then all the other text came in and made me look like an idiot. Is that common or is it just me? do I have to reflash things? what should i do to fix that?
 
My phone's been rebooting for hours. what could the problem be?

I think I know what I've done wrong. So, when I downloaded the .zip files, I thought that i did so with sequential respect to Leslie's guide, with PG86IMG.zip having rcdata.img, PG86IMG (2).zip which had hboot.img and PG86IMG (2).zip having radio.img.

I also installed them in this order, accidentally thinking that the first .zip had hboot.img in it. and no matter what i do, i cant get out of the boot loop.

My phone is stock ODEX with s-off.

Could someone please help?

2. Using the stock rom has been known to cause boot loops, and it is HIGHLY recommended that you install Harmonia or Midnight rom before you change the Hboot.

What is safe to flash from the recent OTA update:
Firmware (radio and pri) is perfectly fine on any rom.
Hboot could create problems on older GB roms, but fine on anything recent.


System update is NOT safe, even on Harmonia.
This updates systemUI.and that alone will create issues on almost any rom we have. It may be minor, but it can cause problems.
I'm working on an update for Harmonia now.

Krowley3 has the firmware in a patch here.
