Root The "Fix everything by turning your phone into an Evo 3d" thread

PRL (optional) is a bit more in depth.
This seems to be a pain in the neck for most, however posting the diag drivers above may help. If you can't get it, don't stress as this is optional and usually has the least effect of all of these.

1. Disable debugging on your device (settings, developer options) and connect it to your computer

2. Install QPST

3. Open "QPST Configuration" in the "QPST" folder under Programs

4. Dial ##3424#

5. Click on the

I reboot into bootloader, it comes up. i select bootloader, and then it attempts to flash, i get the CID incorrect! Update Fail! message every time. like i said before the other two worked great. not sure if there are any additional steps im leaving out for the radio...
so it actually doesn't recognize the file... check to see if any of the folders in you sd hold another pg86img.zip file... or the folders within folders... cause it looks everywhere...

I can't for the life of me figure out what to do, I do the steps but what port do I enter? I wrote usb but it didnt work.
I'm sorry I don't remember exactly, but I believe I unchecked something on that screen- I think it was "show serial and USB..." and my phone showed up in the list. I clicked it and it entered something by itself, "Com3" I think. I clicked ok and everything else worked.

If it's not working, change the text in Android-info.txt (inside the .zip) from SPCS_001 to SPCS_002.

Like this. http://puu.sh/1lKpL

Thank you for the info it works great now...

By the way if you use MSL reader from the market it makes it really easy to read it. Just remember to be rooted.

Sorry for the lack of knowledge on some of this, but I am having a slight issue. Got harmonia 3.16 with s off. Hboot is 1.57.5757 and I reboot into twrp and try to flash the hboot that's on page 1 and reboot phone on successful flash nothing changes. I have only that file (un renamed) in the main directory of my sd card and it seems to flash okay and phone reboots, but nothing changes. I tired pri and radio for the heck of it, but of course nothing. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Signal does seem to be better, but still get the error code and fluctuating signal.

please reread the instructions in the op... you have to flash from bootloader and not from twrp...

Yeah, I noticed the radio link is down too. It might have been mentioned, but what is the difference between the two radios listed? One is with the rest of the downloads (but currently doesn't work) and the other at the bottom of the post. I just used the one at the bottom.

Can i do this before activated my phone with virgin mobile or i have to wait until i activated my phone.

You won't have much of a choice. The phone auto activates when you first turn it on and if you don't properly activate your phone when you first turn it on... you'll have to factory reset the phone in order to be able to successfully activate once your account is active.

You will not lose s-off through a factory reset. Actually you should not lose root either. Just data. It will return the rom you are on to how it was when you flashed it. Just back everything up with titanium Backup or something reset and then restore your apps and data

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who contributed something--software, instructions, videos, whatever--to this fix. After about a month of frustration, I found this thread. I read over everything here, and several other places, several times before I overcame my trepidation and decided to give this a shot.

It took almost no time at all, it was incredibly easy with the instructions provided, and my phone now functions perfectly. In fact, it's better in just about every other way outside of the issues I sought to repair.

Anyway, again, thanks to everyone who had a hand in any part of this. You're all amazing.

I am a little biased.

I would so pay someone to do this for me ... just wish I knew someone around me that can do this. I really can't stand this error.

Please explain in more detail what the "root of the sdcard" is. Is it at the highest level where it's just a backslash? Or is it /root? Or is it under the "sdcard" folder?

Is there any way to know that it worked? When I'm in bootloader, it scans really fast but I don't see anything that changes.

its just in the base of the sd card... not inside a folder in the sdcard but just the sdcard folder itself... if it scans and nothing happens... u did it wrong

its not really as hard is it seems... pm me and ill walk you through it....

I'm a complete noob. I'm clueless ... so I don't wanna drive you insane with it.
I actually got my phone replaced from the seller I originally got it from and while it has LESS errors ... the radio interface pops up every now and then. I just want it to be solved. But I don't know any technical terms and stuff ...
