The Huawei Ascend VIP Lounge !!!

i haven't had any cricket problems. (besides being on cricket) lol

I wonder if it is an app I installed? Hidden App is only supposed to work for 2.2 but I can get it to work if I reboot the phone after I hide a couple of apps.

CPUBoost is the other app I installed since the problem arised. It seems to make the phone lag when receiving calls with it's constant Superuser permissions.

I haven't heard anything about Cricket getting the Indulge but that would be awesome. It's a great little device. But the new Ascend will be fantastic IMO. Gone with the track ball! I never liked track balls with full touch screens. They seem a bit overkill. Also the 800mhz chip will hopefully be enough juice to power the darn thing. It would be nice to play ONE ROUND of Angry Birds in less than 10 minutes. The only thing that worries me is the rearrangement of the hard keys. Doesn't look like it will have dedicated "send" and "end" keys. I like to know I have just hung up on you!
Do you think cricket will get the ideos x5 later or is the ascend 2 its replacement? I'm pissed because I've been looking forward to the x5 and the a2 looks like a big downgrade.

Anyone know if there is a difference between Icarus Cricket 1.0 and Icarus 1.1...or are they the same thing?

This thread is now on life support. :(

Went to a Sprint store last night to check on the new Windows 7 phone. $200 with a two year contract. Amazon.com sells the same phone for only $50.

My wife has a Samsung Epic with Sprint so we could go on a shared plan.

You can find great deals on the Epic, Shift and Evo right now, as I recall.

The Epic has went down by $90 at the Sprint store. I want to play Netflix and Windows is the only one that would let me do that.

The guy at the store said that he believes there would be an app made in the Android Market for Netflix. From what I have read, an app will only be made on new Android phones and not in the Market.

Who knows how long that will take? If I was given a timetable, I could definitely wait. My wife has been waiting for Sprint 4G for over 7 months and they still can't give her a date when it will arrive.

Well, sounds like you're in a tough fix. FWIW - PlayOn will work with any of the ones I mentioned.

But, if you have to have native Netflix and have it now, then your hands seem pretty-well tied.

Best luck whichever way you choose to go!

Do you guys have any experience with wirefly? I've been reading their thread in the lounge, and it seems hit or miss.

I don't but as you can imagine, I've read a lot of them hereabouts.

General consensus seems to be good prices - but beware of any contract change, it hits their fine print and you get charged a whopping amount that makes an early termination fee look tame.

Suggest googling "androidforums thunderbolt wirefly" and ditto with evo in place of thunderbolt (our site search software isn't the greatest, so google is better).

That said, they maintain a good outreach and are therefore welcomed contributors here.

Not much, but hope it helps.

I remember reading a post of yours earlier about PlayOn. I would need to be next to a router for that to work, correct?

I think it works over 3G - send a PM to marctronixx (another mod), mention I sent you, and I'm sure he'll be happy to help - he's using it and turned me on to it.

I'm in process of re-doing my entire home network and don't have it yet - but am likely to go with it.

It would be nice to stick with Android and have the chance at 4G service in the future. The Evo seems to be the most popular but I might choose the Epic because I could research and teach my wife how to use her phone better. I just sent marctronixx a PM.
