Went to a Sprint store last night to check on the new Windows 7 phone. $200 with a two year contract. Amazon.com sells the same phone for only $50.

My wife has a Samsung Epic with Sprint so we could go on a shared plan.

Windows phone 7?!?! :eek::eek: Whaaa? Do you really watch that many full length movies on your phone that netflix is that important? Don't be seduced by the dark side! lol :mad:
 
And with the Nexus S 4G hitting Sprint possibly as soon as Apr 18, and the Evo 3D coming, you've got a lot of choices there.

If you do go the replacement route, don't overlook the utility of still using your Ascend as a little internet appliance. I like RemoteDroid for my HTPC use, for example.

I like the shift. It's not as ginormous as the evo. If I was going to go the contact route, thats probably what I would go with. Sprint is the only one with real unlimited data anymore, plus they are cheaper than verizon or at&fail.

I'd actually rather watch movies than regular cable the majority of the time. We have a Wii to stream Netflix in the living room and a Roku box to stream Netflix in our bedroom. Now I would like a phone to play Netflix when we travel or when I'm bored waiting somewhere alone.

I noticed that you can buy phones on Amazon.com considerably cheaper than the Sprint store. Do you know if any issues arise when trying to get yourself on a family members current plan? Starting an individual plan seems like it would be easy enough but I want to do a shared plan with my wife. The company I work for would also allow us a 20% discount on our monthly bill.

I was thinking of selling my Ascend on ebay since there is no competition so it should sell fast. I thought it over and probably would give the phone to my mother so she could connect to wifi (access the internet when out). She just has a very basic cell phone for making calls (Net10).
 
The evo 3d is nice, but I think 3d on a phone is kind of a gimmick. Plus the giant cameras on the back are kind of ugly. The nexus s 4g is much sexier to me, but no sd card?

I never miss a Green Bay Packers game...never. Love watching NFL football.

Baseball is my second favorite sport but it is distant second. Being from Wisconsin...the last two games haven't went so well for the Brewers. :mad::mad:

The Bengals are a mess. Carson Palmer has demanded a trade, and he's so serious about it he sold his house in Cincy! :eek: He said he'd rather retire than play for the bungles again. :mad:

GPS, 3G, Touch screen were all gimmicks in their time
It wouldn't be much of a purchasing factor for me, but it'd probably be great for the only two Landscape Orientation things to do on a phone; Gaming and movies
 
Just wasted too many hours on a failed attempt at installing CM7. I guess I will just have to wait until someone draws up some easier to follow instructions.

I already had CWM (version 2) from Icarus 1.0

My screen did not turn orange and black. It is still green and black. I don't know if it is only because I am using version 2 instead of version 3 or it is because I skipped this:
connect usb to pc
open cwm folder previously dl/d and: run the install-recovery file according to os (for windows .bat)

I was told it was ok to skip those steps in I had CWM already installed.

Edit: turned out that green and black is fine if you have V2.

Wait. I'm confused. I thought we considered Icarus as the dark side, and were happy to go to the dark side?:D
