I thought it was supposed to be easier than icarus. It's too bad issac is probably stopping work on cm7. He was so close. Maybe someone else will take up the cause.

I was doing some research and checking the forums on the shift last night. Seems like a really nice phone. I'm surprised the forums aren't a little more active, though, even with your magic touch. :D
 
You know, CM7 for the Blade two months ago was where the Ascends is now
We know are officially part of CyanogenMod and nearly all bugs are fixed :D
 
It's amazing to me that someone could even get cm7 working on the ascend at all. These devs are geniuses.

They sure are. And Isaac, yesterday released a new version of Mod7. Sadly I put on CM7 Saturday, the day before the new version was released and I had just finished Reinstalling all of my apps...
 
Man. I don't mean to change the topic but, I really think they are going to hold that 2.2 hostage. I think they want to sell this special edition phone. I think they feel if they hold out on us, They will be able to sell this new edition in the same mass fashion they did with the original. It's a great marketing strategy but, It's sucky for the people who own the current model. X.x

I'd once heard that our phones have different parts, So therefore they all act differently during flashes. That's why a wipe would be recommended, To avoid any sort of "Tweaks" that could of been avoided. There is even a person who has claimed that his ascend screen was actually from a model phone that supported MT. Cheap phones, They get spare parts! LOL.

Yeah they might hold it from us but I still won't buy the new phone with TapOut written all over it. Really? A lot of people put a case on their phone anyway.

yeah ZTE changed screens too
 
Hidden App went crazy and deleted my File Manager, Gallery, and Dodol Wallpaper Maker apps. Is there anyway to get File Manager and Gallery back? I should have used Titanium Backup before installing that damn app.
 
Man, you've had a lot of trouble with that app. You did a backup when you put cm7 on, right? You can use ES security manager to lock your gallery if you just don't want anybody messing with it. Good luck.

I backed up before I flashed CM7. That's how I was able to restore File Manager. I don't know if it the same one Isaac uses on CM7 though.

When I look through Titanium Backup there is no Gallery on there. The only thing I can think of is I flashed it when those apps were still hidden.

No, /system/app is a file directory, not a menu option.

You'll need some kind of file manager like astro, which you can get from the market. When you open it, you'll start in /mnt/sdcard (or somewhere to that effect). Keep hitting the button to go up a level until you're just in /, and then go into the system and then app folder.

All your installed apps, even hidden ones, should appear in there (paid apps go to a different directory I think, but you see what I mean). If they aren't, then they really are deleted.
