The (maybe) "Epic" Motorola X Pre-Release Thread

Wish there was more, I cannot get enough right now. Still ticked off there hasn't been an official announced release date yet. I want this phone asap, I still haven't learned to be patient in all my years.

I am right there with you. Jumping ship to att and won't do it til this phone is out. Did decide last night I will have to customize. As little as I have on my phone it still eats up 16g fast so will have to get 32 to make it work for me since there is no expandable memory.

I am in bad shape. I am on ATT and been wanting to jump ship to TMobile - too much coin for too little service with ATT.

SO... I have to wait till Nov to get a customized 32GB version.

Yet another review that says something about the buttons being loose when build quality is mentioned.

This does worry me a bit. My Moto D4 had wobbly plastic buttons and it really bugged me. My Razr HD has rock solid buttons, they just don't move at all and there is a satisfying click to them. I really don't want to go back to the wobble again (should I decide to even get an X).

For every review I've seen with wobbly buttons, I've seen one stating the buttons are rock solid. *Shrug* Maybe variations in test units that will get straightened out before the production units ship?

Yeah, I had a HTC Droid Incredible 2 before I got my Maxx HD. The Dinc 2's power button definitely got lopsided later on in life, and the volume rocker, erm, rocked very loosely shall we say :D

On my RMHD though, the buttons are super solid. Very satisfying indeed. Don't want wobbly Moto X buttons. This definitely seems like a phone I'll have to play around with at a store before I decide to buy or not.

Guy Kawasaki was Faith Hilling in that video! :D

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Moto-X-confirmed-for-August-23rd-release-on-AT-T-with-Moto-Maker_id46484

As expected, the Moto X will be available for $199.99 for a 16GB model, and $249.99 for a 32GB model. If you opt for AT&T Next, the 16 GB model is available for $27 per month and the 32 GB model is $32 per month. AT&T will offer the woven white and woven black options in-store, as well as the vouchers for the Moto Maker customization option. And, as a limited time bonus, those who choose Moto Maker will get a free Skip NFC accessory.

Now the question is whether VZW will stick with the 29th release date and allow AT&T to release first.

(I'm leaning towards yes for the love of their Droid line)

All this camera talk today so here ya go.

Motorola Mobility (@Motorola) tweeted at 8:26 PM on Thu, Aug 15, 2013:
Heads up! Tune in Friday at 10 am PT for a Q&A with Moto X camera guru Michelle Gattuso with @GuyKawasaki
http://t.co/UMJcLcTgMO

From Guy near 11 pm last night -

FYI, the Hangout with Michelle Gattuso of Motorola about the Moto X camera will happen on Friday, August 16th at 10 am Pacific.

Like an idiot, I canceled the event not once, not twice, but three times because I thought it was a duplicate calendar entry.

We'll post a link in the morning!

Epic fail Guy, along with the entire Google+ bandwidth-wasting, bloated piece of ... work ... project.

Please don't ever change, I enjoyed missing this!

Ok, here's the thing after the fact -

Imaging product manager is a BSEE and an MBA.

Pretty much explains maker software, doesn't it. :(

If they release the x 6 months late it wouldn't make much of a stir either. I think they're trying to put htc out of business.

Huh?

The X comes out this month for Verizon. However you can only customize on AT&T until November and then you can customize on the other carriers.
