Root [Theme] NexTheme for Droid X Froyo 2.2 (8/26/2010)

ok, so trying to do the manual deodex on my phone aint gonna happen.... idk wtf I did wrong there.... but I should still be able to do the clockwork recovery way right?

when I reboot into bootstrap recovery?

yes that is clockwork recovery, I would advise getting rom manager though, as koush said bootstrap recovery just sets up alot of the vital parts in recovery. But its not needed after and you can just use rom manger to do everything

yeah he updated the free one on his site or are you talking about rom manager, either way the free one is fine for both

that one was for rom manager sorry. ok so to do an advanced restore, do I do a backup first, then after I install the deodexed rooted froyo zip I go to advanced restore? so much crap im starting to confuse myself lol

no you need to make a folder in /clockworkmod/backup called deodexed_froyo(thats what I named mine) then extract the contents of the zip file into there, then boot into recovery and do an advanced restore of deodexed_froyo and only choose system

Hey look 1234

ohhh ok I gotcha now! still waiting on the file to download... hey, random halfway unrelated question... anyone notice that the 4.6.0 drivers file is outdated now? now when I plug in my phone is pops up to install a 4.7 driver instead.

Quick help please... I installed Nextheme by Fab successfully. Now when I go to Appbrain to install my apps I receive "The request item could not be found". For some reason AppBrain is not seeing all the apps I purchase/downloaded? Only way I can install them is to download them individually? Any suggestions?

First of all want to say thanks to the developer. And I'm sorry if this problem has been addressed before.

My problem is that after installed the theme pack, the stock dock icons still remain. I've provided a screen shot.

The only thing that didn't go as planned during the setup was that I couldn't get the battery % zip file to install. Everything else ran smoothly.

Droid X Rooted running 2.2 and FlyX Rom RC1

Thanks

Hi, to get the dock like in the screenshot, you'll actually have to use LauncherPro.

It is a free app in the market, and IMO, much better than the default home screen application.

As for the battery percentages, I am aware of the problem, but I have been very busy at work.

I am working on the fix :D

I don't think the free ROM manager works for downloaded ROMS. You'll have to download them yourself and put it on the SD card. It'll work but it'll work better if you spend the 2 bucks.

Installed looks beautiful. Thank you very much OP

Only thing I am waiting for is the battery percent fix. Take your time though I'm not trying to rush you or anything. Love the way it is now.

Thanks again!

Fab I cannot seem to get the Battery percentages to install. keeps saying E:can't open /sdcard/Battery_Percentage_Froyo_DX.zip (bad) installation aborted. Any ideas? Other than this I installed the theme that I know and love without any problems.

+1 for me. Love the theme but I get the same error each time I try to use clockwork recovery to install the battery percentage.zip.

What if I would like to experiment with other Themes, but they don't provide this font? How do I go about keeping the font (or even changing the font myself) on another theme? Nextheme is pretty grimey. I want to mess around with other Themes just to justify why this should be the final theme I run for a while.

If the other theme does not change the font, it will remain the nextheme font. If it does, you can get it back with the files in the OP of this thread:
