Unofficial Incredible Wallpaper Thread

Hey guys... what should the dimensions of a picture I want put as my wallpaper? The ones that I've tried are apparently too big and don't fit to the screen.

I've even tried the 960x800 but that doesn't fit either.

960x800 is the correct size, when you go to "set ass wallpaper" you have to stretch the selection box out to cover the whole 960x800

So i can just use any high-res pic and make it into a wallpaper?

Im on a hunt for wallpapers for my wife, and she doesnt like any of this stuff. I need gurly crap, and ed hardy stuff, maybe louie vutton or whatever.
 
yeah pretty much just find something you like and you can drag the box to pick what is cropped out and what the size will be

no problem

i found that the site Resize, Shrink, Sketch, Blur, Grayscale and Crop Images or photos online makes it really simple to resize just about anything and then i uploaded using imageshack

the biggest size that i can use in "landscape resize" is 720 x 540; is there a way to set a custom size like 960 x 800 that we need and ....if i was using a 8 megapixel pic taken using the droid what percentage smaller would i use?
 
If you get the program paint.NET (Which is free) you can resize any picture you want, to any size you want.
 
I have been using Irfanview (which lets you do whatever size you want)for years...and when I used other for my blackberry wallpapers which are small I had no problem.but now I do making them for this phone they always look pixelated.

awesome find!!!!! thanks so much i can now take a 8 MP pic with my camera of my kid and make it in to a wallpaper. this is what i needed.

the option to the far right title "advanced tools" gives you the option to set your own 960x800
 
Im not very good with photoshop :o but was wondering if someone could do a nice wallpaper with the Braves A in the middle with a faded black background?... Just a thought.

Sorry... I didnt see the post above. Ill give it a try.
