You cant upgrade more officially, but you can using an unofficial ROM, which does void warrenty but i think its worth it. The first post has all the information you need like dudeman said.

Hiya Dudeman,
Haven't spoken to you for a while as I have been busy at home lol, hope things are good for you. Just want to check up on something with you as I have been having problems with the latest ROM's in that once installed, I can no longer connect to my network (Tesco). So I am going to try installing the latest ROM using the Fastboot method. I just want to check, that to keep all my settings and apps, I have to make a backup first with Titanium Backup and then flash the ROM. Once that is done, I think I am right in saying that all I have to do then is restore missing apps + all system data. Can you please just confirm if I have this right.
Many thanks
Ian

Yeah that's right, I can't seem to figure out why you can't connect to your network.. I know Tesco uses O2 signal and I used to be with O2 and it worked perfectly.. Maybe this ROM update will help :)

Hmmm, don't know what's happening myself, I have just updated using the Fastboot version and I still can't connect to Tesco (O2). I just get the message NO SERVICE: selected network (O2 - UK) unavailable. Also, I don't get any signal showing on the signal bars, so I'm stumped as to why lol, but it only seems to be with the RC ROM's.

It's really weird.. Have you tried manually searching for the network? Or maybe try cleaning the contacts where the SIM card is

When I go to available networks, there is nothing there, the phone doesn't even try to search. I think it is more of a problem of there being no signal for some reason.

I would agree with dudeman, try another sim card for tesco if you have one, and if that doesnt work try a sim card from another network, it could be that there are problems where you are perhaps O2 is doing some maintanace which is giving you no signal.

If these 2 sim cards dont work it could be a problem with the mobile network adaptor in the phone, or for some reason CM7 didnt install the drivers correctly the only things I can think of right now.

Thanks for the help guys, but I have now got it sorted. I had to start from scratch and do everything one step at a time and finally got it all working now. Not sure what the problem was, but it took a couple of hours to fully sort out and get everything back in place. Once again, many thanks for your help.

Could you describe what you did? In case anyone else has a similar problem

hi - I've flashed to 2.3.5 - and now have the Tethering and hotspot working along with bluetooth - I'm sure my battery life has also increased by at least six hours. All good and very happy - Thanks for all your help dudeman1996 and everyone else who posts here, the minor issues have been solved by this forum

Cheers

Anyone know any ways except wiping battery stats to make the battery meter show the right charge level, I have wiped battery stats through recovery a few times and it hasnt helped, my battery only lasts about 12hrs when its idle most of the time, and only about 3hrs if im using a wifi teather.

I have tried to wipe battery stats about 5 times with no differance, and I did try an app called battery calibrator, but the second I take the phone off charge (I charge it overnight for atleast 8hrs) it drops to 99% so battery calibrator will not work because it needs to be at 100%.

I have tried everything I can think of, including disabling wifi, gps, lowering screen brightness and resetting the cpu to 600MHz all seem to have little or no effect, also I am with 3 so I cannot use 2g networks only, because 3 only use HSDPA.

Thanks for any advice.

When you wipe the battery stats, you're meant to do it when the phone is fully charged and while it's still plugged in.

Thats how I do it using recovery, it will usually have been on atleast an 8hr charge and it says its at 100% when I wipe it, but it doesnt seem to help me.

What version of Windows are you using?

Recovery has to be installed using fastboot, which the .exe should automatically do for you. Do you recall any error messages coming up?

windows 7 .. i tried it again the install automatically, now and the CMD appears and it installed automatically and it suddenly gone .. i didn't know if it is already finish??? my screen now is still blank ... how do i know when it is finally finished?? will it reboot my phone automatically?

my phone now is always rebooting ... T_T

When you connected your phone, did it make that 'usb device connected' sound? The cmd window shouldn't close so quick, something is wrong. Try a different usb port
