[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

Just installed sonny's minimal ICS theme. Not bad. Not bad at all

I loved sonny's themes. Purchased them all for my Inc while on CM7. And it's nice that he allows those purchases to carry through to these ICS based themes. But I'm disappointed that he took the exact same UI elements from his CM7 themes and ported them (or w/e you want to call it) to ICS. The status bar icons looks extremely dated. We need modernity for the GN

I am using nova and its slow. Wow. Will try the other launcher. But I don't think u can remove the Google search bar with that one right?

New problem. GPS does not work on b35. Anyone else having this problem by chance? Thanks!!!

Yes with Trebuchet you can remove the persistent google bar :)

Just locked on GPS in under 7 seconds inside sitting by my back patio door. 1st one on B35 not bad at all

Hm haven't noticed too much of that... Though one thing I will say that I don't like is his signal icons... For data and wifi they are... Unattractive, to say the least. And in this theme I also don't like that the text editor tab (the blue one that you slide around to change the cursor spot when typing) has been changed to white which I really don't understand considering it's an ICS theme...

Edit: Oh, I also don't like that he changed the Nova launcher tab highlights to white. Again, on an ICS theme, why change from blue to white? Idk but other than that this theme is sweet the pop up menus and loading sequences paired with blacked out backgrounds makes me love it

Edit. Fixed the search bar.

Meant to say navigation. Has not worked for me since b33. Does nav work for you? Voice nav that is.

Thanks again man.

Geez man thanks! Really appreciate you doing that wow!

Mine is hit and miss since b33. More misses than hits though crazy.

Of course my razr maxx is totally fine. Ugh. Dunno what's up.

No problem it's super nice outside (64F) great night for a walk! (plus I was worried wanted to make sure it was working!)

You have a maxx as well? lol

I thought there was a thread that since Google maps has had some recent updates some peoples voice nav is not speaking street names or something like that.... :hmmmm2:

Pretty nice here tonight. Mine did not work outside either. Even took a drive. No dice.

Yes I have a razr Maxx too lol. Awesome device to be honest.

I recall reading what you're saying I think it was Droid life. Hmmm. : (

Personally I think JD, especially on a rooted phone, is unnecessary. So you say it's the "ROM" causing this behavior? Sounds more like a JD issue. Have you tried another ROM and did not experience this issue?

Not sure what a JD is. I'm not sure if it's a ROM issue to be honest. It may be a hardware/software issue for the Nexus. My point in writing is to see if anyone has found a solution to it or if anyone else is having this issue. I know it was prevalent with prior releases but I thought that 4.0.4 was supposed to fix it.

JD = Juice Defender

Thanks BB. I do have Juice Defender installed, but when I manually turn it back on shouldn't it connect?

hehe

What I would try to do is stop using JD and see how your phone does. I promise you that it won't hurt anything. Unless of course you just can't go on living without JD :)

It should re-connect yes, but maybe JD is interfering. Could you try it w/o JD and see how it does?

I don't understand how JD can have a good rating in Market. A LOT of people using it complain about issues. I bought it over a year ago and had better battery life w/o it. I tried it again a few weeks ago and had connectivity issues, w/o an increase in battery (again) so uninstalled it.

Nothing like being laughed at via emoticon. ;) I will give it a try. I won't tell the JD gods that you are mocking them though.

From the sound of it you think JD is a placebo. Hmmm . . . It works and I believe it! No, wait. Never mind.

Awe it was funny silly when you said "Not sure what a JD is" made me chuckle.

I believe you believe Juice Defender works for you

11:00 a.m. Normally at around 85% this time of day, currently at 73% without JD. To answer the question though, JD seems to be the issue. I can connect/disconnect to wifi/3G/4G at will with it uninstalled. Now the problem is getting my battery to last without JD.

That should not be an issue as there are hundreds if not thousands of folks with the GN that are not using juice defender and have excellent battery life.

Was your main use of the app (juice defender) to control and schedule automated data connections (3G/4G/WIFI)? If you answer yes, have you ever tried leaving data on ALL the time 24/7? Leaving 4G on 24/7 in poor reception areas is definitely hard on the battery, but 3G is much gentler. If you have decent 4G signal where you are and where you go leave it on all day and see how it does. If 4G reception is poor for you then leave 3G on all day (until you need your 4g blazing speed). Give it a try and a few days experimenting. One day of testing won't cut it
