[Verizon] [rom]jbsourcery v5.4-lte[06/07/13] jb4.2.2 The Final Call

I dl'ed them Friday night, and then dl'ed them Saturday afternoon for my wife. We're both running Sourcery 4.3 with the Maximus gapps and neither of us have Talk.

download the latest 1-13 gapps.. just tested both and they are working now...
Sorry for the problem, must have had a bad apk on my desktop when i moved it into the gapps

Did the custom brightness settings go away in 4.3?

Someone mentioned that there was a setting to swipe down the right side of the screen to go straight to the toggles? Where is that setting found?

Also, an observation: In landscape mode, the nav buttons tend not to work very well. Even a quick tap tends to trigger the nav bar ring, and then whatever app I've assigned to usually #1 or #5. This happened to me in 4.2 too.

Great stuff as always, despite minor quibbles -- thanks!

Which one did you flash, 180 or 230? I'm still on sock kernel and the battery could be better. Only ROM i found with good to better battery life is Eclipse, but it lacks some features only Sourcery has.... That I know of...

Actually, try the new air kernel nightly #483. It's getting me better battery and less lag than lean.

Atom Rom has the best battery life and virtually no lag, but not many features. It's always a trade off.

air #483, I'll give it a go. Going to spend 48 hours on LK 180 first. then I'll try that one for the next 48. I kinda like the feature rich roms. and none compare to Sourcery
cant take that stock blue. I have the Charming font softkeys in a #ff11ff11 green...along with the battery & clock and thats just the surface...
Thanks for your input!

Custom brightness is still under display, also can swipe across the notification area to change the brightness

you can use 2 fingers to swipe down to go straight to the toggles.

Landscape and nav bar works fine for me.. not understanding what your meaning here.

thx

Brightness: I think I wasn't clear. Maybe I meant custom light levels? You get into a table and set the brightness level between 0-255 for a given range of ambient light. There's an option to decrease screen brightness as ambient levels fall. Hope that's clearer.

The two fingers thing may not be working for me because I have that assigned as a Nova gesture. But I'll try it next time I see a notification anyway.

Not sure how to better explain what happens in landscape. Not a biggie, it's rare I'm using the phone on it's side anyway.

Thanks for the reply, and again for the awesome work!

I don't think Nova (or others) control the status bar, just the "desktop" area, so as long as you start the swipe on the status bar I think you should be ok. I just played around with this a bit and it seems to work really well, I had heard it was implemented, but I didn't realize what the magic gesture was. Very nice to have!

Lovin' me some Sourcery! Dunno if anyone else has run into it or not, but I've had a few random service drops recently. Noticed it again today, driving through town, where there is strong coverage. Total signal drop out, for about 3 minutes. 3G service, full bars, and then just...poof. Pandora stopped, looked at the phone, I was at a blank signal bar. So, not really sure what that's about. I had rebooted it earlier in the day too, so.. yeah.

But, Bluetooth seems better! :)

And that swipe across the status bar for brightness...omg it's sexy! Haven't found anyone yet that hasn't gone "now THAT'S sweet"

Just have to say that the battery life on this is the best I've had since I've owned the phone.

One thing though, my wife is saying that she can't get her wallpaper to stay what she sets it as. It keeps reverting back to a sourcery wallpaper. Any ideas?

I found that happening as well. I just make sure I backup my wallpaper settings with TiBU and restore just the wallpaper when that happens. It takes a few seconds, but it's easier than having to reframe your picture every time.

BTW, why is the clock toggle staying on the pulldown even though I eliminate it from the toggles I want shown? I uncheck it, but it keeps coming back. Still on JBS 4.2. Thoughts?

I'm running out of tricks here. I am installed 4.3 using a clean wipe and standard 12-12-12 Gapps. Still having a devil of a time with my Bluetooth. It drops, controls don't work, total pain. Please advise. I may revert to 4.2 as an experiment.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using SwiftKey Flow

My Bluetooth had done the same thing. UN paring and re paring fixed it. I still have to reboot to get the gps to lock though.

Hey all :). I always need to have an "as close to stock Android" ROM when switching to a new version (4.2 in this case). Now, I'm bored and want to go back to Sourcery so I can trick my phone out again. Don't really see any noticeable difference in the 4.2.2 update so going back to 4.2.1 won't bother me.

I've never really cared much for inverted gapps and other apps because of the problems that are usually present (black text on black backgrounds for example). How are the inverted ones for this ROM? Is the "maximus" gapps overkill for anyone? How many more apps are inverted in maximus vs minimus?

Does it matter which gapps I install if I decide to try the black majik theme or does the theme flash new gapps? Is black majik a solid theme?

Damn...I'm asking too many questions :). Just looking for recommendations so I don't have to flash it all myself...even though I'll probably end up doing just that since I'm currently downloading all 3 gapps packages LOL!

Heya UB. I keep coming back to sourcery because I need my gadgets. :) I get bored easily.

I don't run the inverted gapps because I prefer my gapps straight up, but I've not heard of any issues with the over at team sourcery.

Thanks :)

Yeah, I know what you mean. I was running Sourcery for a long time before 4.2 dropped and then I had to have the "latest and greatest". But after a while I need to be able to tweak stuff. You have no idea how much I hate the stock messaging app because I got spoiled with making it look EXACTLY how I wanted. I'm also tired of changing my stock softkeys via zipthemer. Every time I do, I remember there is an easier way to do this LOL!

But the on-screen battery life sucks with the Galaxy nexus and I'm hoping the inverted apps will improve that (even if just a little bit). Going with the minimus gapps so I can see what the difference is between minimus and maximus (seriously...can't find that info anywhere ).

What kernel is treating you right these days?
