[Verizon] [rom]jbsourcery v5.4-lte[06/07/13] jb4.2.2 The Final Call

i know this isnt a kernel thread but i like/trust here...

question for the knowledgeable, will increases cpu from say 1.0 ghz to 1.2 have a theoretical gain or decrease in battery/temps/etc?

i know the higher speed will kill the battery faster but on the flipside having the extra kick will get process(s) done faster so it can scale back faster so i can see the argument for better/worse battery and hotter/cooler temps... any thoughts?

Please tell me the rom with jb 4.2.1 that has boot audio and ill get it in.

Since i haven't seen anyone getting it to work since JB along with myself we dont currently offer boot ani's with sound because there is no sound.

Tough to give you a precise answer. Battery life tends to diminish when you clock the processor faster. It is doubtful that the bump in processor speed will allow you to complete processes fast enough to earn you extra battery life. Make sure you set the screen off min/max frequency as low as possible to save battery when in standby.

Is it because the startup scan for multi user
 
I have never had a problem with Apex Pro or these ROMs EXCEPT this annoying BT issue. I bet my BT headset drops connection 10x a day on 4.4. This is with a CLEAN FLASH. I think I'll try my old BT headset to isolate the issue to the headset or the ROM...
 
Truly enjoying this ROM. I've given up trying to try every option. It's just too much. :) Anyone try that LMT or button savior extra apps? I d/l'd lmt but was too busy to figure it out. :p

i've been using button savior on full screen for a while

it's nice having the extra real estate
 
I have been using lmt for a long time. Love the newest update and hardly ever use the nav buttons on the bottom. I set the the pie for lmt to appear at the bottom and love it.

yeah my bluetooth disconnected and connected randomly yesterday, but that's the first time in a while. there must be a bluetooth bug with google's 4.2 release. never did that with ICS

Put the ROM files in your sdk tools folder.

From your default directory (should be something like C:/android-sdk/tools):

adb push <path to file on phone> <path to location on device>

OK, I wanted come back and give everyone an update on my crazy situation that occurred when I did the wipe cache, data, dalvik cache, and factory reset to install JB Sourcery 4.4. I thought I had completely erased my WHOLE sdcard. That was not the case. What turned out to be the problem is I am and have been using TWRP (which I have loved up until now) for my recovery. Once I did my factory reset and all above mentioned TWRP 2.3.3.0 could no longer see anything in the sdcard\0 directory which is where everything is stored in the new file structure. TWRP can only see into the sdcard\.

Once I pushed the latest version of JB Sourcery (4.4) to my sdcard and installed it I realized I had none of the data for my apps that I had on my phone. All my Titianum backups were gone. So, I decided to restore my old October 2012 backup of XenonHD (had to copy it from my computer back to my phone) to then make a Titainum backup and then be able to have a backup of all my data from my apps. So, I restored that backup and made my new Titanium backups. I then got to looking on my sdcard and noticed ALL of my old data was still there. Pictures, old system backups, documents, old Titainum backups...everything was still there. It was never erased. It was just in the other sdcard\0 directory. I updated all of my apps with the new updates available and then created a new system backup. After doing this I was going to copy it off my phone to my computer for safe keeping. Hooked my phone up to my computer and couldn't find the backup. I then realized that hooking my phone up to my computer only allowed me to see things in the sdcard directory and now my phone is storing everything in the sdcard\0. So, I had to copy everything from the sdcard\0 to the sdcard to be able to access it from my computer and for TWRP to even see it.

So, the reason I had to adb stuff back to my phone after doing the factory reset is because TWRP could no longer see any of my old backups because it cannot see the sdcard\0 directory...even though it is there and everything is still in it. This may be unique to just me and I know this post is long, but wanted to post it in case someone else runs into this issue.

Does CWMR have this same problem...not seeing the sdcard\0 directory?
 
The problem isnt that your recovery cant ready sdcard/0.

The problem is that your data is in sdcard/0...it should be in sdcard........

Data/media/0 is where your info is actually stored, sdcard is a symlink to that location. Move all of your data to the sdcard root and you should be fine moving forward

So, the sdcard directory is the primary directory used by the phone? Then why does the sdcard\0 even come into play then?

OK, so the phone is now saving everything to the sdcard\0 directory...is there anyway to stop that and make it save it in the sdcard directory? Titainum, TWRP,...etc. are all saving to the sdcard\0. Pain having to move things back to sdcard.

inside that folder do you have another /0 folder?

If you do, you need to move those files back to the data/media/0 folder. your SDcard folder will follow suit

This is what gets confusing. I go into Root Browser and I go to "data" and I see a media (data\media) and in that folder I see all my stuff. In that same folder (data\media) I do have a 0 folder (data\media\0) that contains stuff.

Now, also when I enter Root Browser I have "sdcard" and selecting that I see all my stuff and there is a 0 directory in there (sdcard\0). So, are these the same folders?

Also, when I enter Root Browser I see a "storage" directory. Selecting it I have storage\sdcard0 which shows all my stuff in it.

That's where it gets really confusing. What is real and what needs to be kept and what can be deleted? So, what all can I delete exactly of these directories? My sdcard is almost full...so I still think there is some doubling up somewhere.

I have explained it good enough to understand what my problem is?
 
Data/media/0

that is where your data needs to be on a 4.2 rom. Dont worry about any other folder than this one. This is where the sdcard will read from.

other folders you are talking about are symlinks to this location.

All of my data resides in data/media/0 and my sdcard doesnt have a /0 attached to it and my recoveries work correctly.
