[Verizon] [rom]jbsourcery v5.4-lte[06/07/13] jb4.2.2 The Final Call

A story of my success:

Downloaded 2.4 and inverted gapps via the update in JBS tools.

Backed up my current rom via RM.

Booted into recovery.

Code:
Factory data reset (wipe data/cache)
go Advanced, wipe Dalvik cache
go back and then to mounts, format /system
go back and then to install .zip from SDCARD
flash rom, then gapps, *then FB sync file* (don't do this, see below)
reboot into system
profit, except for the *

The only exception was the * above, when I tried to apply the FB contact sync all at once I got massive system failures, but when I did the flash without it and then applied it via the method I previously posted, it all _magically_ came together.

Thanks and good luck

Talking with Eagle and we are aware of the bluetooth issue and are able to reproduce it.

Restarting phone and not turning on Bluetooth seems to be temp fix but we will get a fix out asap.

i dont use bluetooth at all so it stays off 100% of the time with me and i dont see any extra battery drain at least no more than usual...maybe cus i keep it off all the time...

Posted this on sorcery forum. But did clean flash of 2.4 and new gapps. My gmail (app) acted funny. If I read an email, it would still show it as u read. Also any email with an attach was stuck on sending. Tried everything to correct. Finally reflashed 2.4 with gapps from 2.3. And success ! Not sure if this is I'll advised

Saw you post over at Sourcery Forum and i have been checking it.. i had gmail act funny the way you describe on 2.3 as well. I would have to hit refresh to get deleted messages and read messages to clear out as well as the counter on top.

Not sure its gapps related, i would imagine its more related to Google server properly syncing with our phones... Please keep tracking on your end and update us for any changes...

1st 2 is probably the same issue.. didnt make a good connection to the server.
Nothing different in the tools from 2.3 to 2.4

Can install the non inverted gapps.. should work perfectly for you

Kinda thought so...wasn't sure on server responding...I did insall the non inverted apps...it is only the messenger thats inverted...Will re wipe and try again later today.
Thanks, Y'all are the best!:)

oh i'm up on the new version so far so good :)

One question though, where the heck is the place to change the color of the power widgets on the pull down? I can't find it :/

Settings > Control Center > Toggles (aokp style) > Advanced Settings Section has all the color settings.

Edit: T-deved again :p

OK battery bluetooth issue....................................................
install a franco kernel..this will override my system core..than installing any kernel and youll be good. It is the system core that is the problem. installing a franco will put in different system core stuff. but other kernels that dont install this will just use francos thus why it is ok for other kernels that wouldnt be if just that kernel was changed. This was not caused by the new trinity kernel but by something we added to system core funny enough for performance :) Sorry for this inconvenience.

Hey there Eagle & other developers:

That weird Bluetooth issue I've been having just resolved! What was the issue? Apparently the kernel!

On your recommendation, I flashed off the stock and/or Trinity kernel and onto Lean 4.3.0. Rebooted the phone and the headset. On bootup, they paired up and I hit the Play button. Instant music!

Not sure how to attribute this, except to the ages-old Navy term PFM*.

*- PFM: a term used by Navy Electronics Technicians to explain how equipment and systems seemingly fix themselves, with proven symptoms disappearing without any external influence. Stands for "Pure (Freaking) Magic". :D

EDIT: So you want us to flash two kernels, right? Franco and then our kernel of choice? Same recovery session or two different sessions?

Same session should be fine.

Messaging app question.

I've been using Handcent for a long time because of the way the threads are displayed; incoming on one side, outgoing on the other, as well as the dark or inverted theme. I don't use the pop up bubble, though. So I flashed 2.4 with the JB inverted gapps and the messaging app had the same features, WOOT!

However, when first I restore my SMS/MMS via MyBackupPro, they are given the date/time stamp of the restore. With Handcent, all I have to do is go to each thread and start a reply with a space, backspace, close and eventually and magically, all my restored SMS/MMS have the original date/time stamps of when they were actually sent or received, sorting them back out by date and time.

I tried to do this with the 'stock' messaging app within JB inverted gapps and the date/time stamp of when I did the MBP restore still stuck. Is there a setting that I missed?

I know I'm too wordy sometimes, but I like to give as much detail as possible.

TIA

I've tested this as well and found the same results with my Rocketfish BT headset. I first flashed a Franco kernel and it did not work. BT would connect but would not start Google Music. I just now flashed Lean 4.4.0. BT connects and music started with a press of play!

I've seen it before...but there's so many damn customizing options:-). But how do I change the color display of the screen. I swear this update has too much green hinge on it. My whites seem greenish.
