[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

Reverted back to the stock 4.1.1 factory image from Google today. Thought it was a good time to wipe everything clean and start from scratch since we're hoping 4.2 is on the near horizon. It'd be nice to take the 4.2 OTA if/when we ever get it, but I'm sure it'll be months before there's any mention of that.

Is this better than doing what I Normally do when a new rom is posted?
I normally backup using titanium then I reboot into recovery. Then wipe, factory reset, wipe, cache, wipe, dalvik cache. Then install New rom then gapps then reboot.
I will then restore my missing apps and data only. Then phone log, and SMS.

What you described is the right way to flash ROMs. What I mentioned about restoring back to Google's stock 4.1.1 image is not necessary for flashing a new ROM (whether just an update or a completely new ROM). I did it because every once in a while I like to start from complete scratch (sd card wiped, un root, stock recvoery, etc). I like to think it makes my phone happy :)

super fast!
super smooth!

Working great for me. GPS Lock in less than 5sec. Interesting changes with 4.2....Tough to write, but some interesting changes to menus and to settings.

Tip of the Day: Developer Options are now located, for 4.2:
Settings >About Phone>click the "Build" 7 times....Developer options now show up in Settings!

I still LOVE this ROM!!!

I'm sure it is too early to tell about the battery life on 10.0...but historically how has Jelly Belly's life been? I'm on AOKP now and Milestone 1 has been horrible despite trying multiple kernels. 4.2 on Jelly Belly has my attention but I've learned battery life is more important to me than a slew of new features.

Battery life is notoriously terrible on Jelly Bean. Of all the ROMs and kernels I've tried since JB, I haven't had one come close to what I used to get on ICS with AOKP + LeanKernel. If you're really serious about battery life, start disabling things like Google Now that are always checking for things to show you. Turn off sync for whatever you don't need (or at least slow down the sync frequency).

I am having a slight decrease in battery life today on 10.0. usually by this time I am still at about 60percent...right now I am at 47...
I know that the dev is aware, so I am sure it will be dealt with soon.... He is feverishly working on making it ultimately stable. Have not had any other issues at all...

Aside from Jellybelly 10.0 and the new gapps, do you suggest I install anything else.

I hear about kernels and radios but I have never installed either one.

Thank you.

JB bootloader, newest radios... Sure.
Also, this is the first stock ish rom with 4.2 so not a lot of mods are ready yet... Personally I like Willyjays mods 1% battery from the post #2 on the JellyBelly rootz thread. I also use Lean Kernel, so I am waiting on that one. I also personally like some inverted Gapps, such as Justunbean or others that do inverts from rootz or xda.... I can put the newest versions up on my Dropbox tonight.
I also personally use the Notification Toggles app from GPlay... Other than those and TIBU pro.... Most of my stuff is more business related and functional apps... Some games for my kids.

Huh... Somehow the link was changed... Okay updated now. In the OP look for the link to my Dropbox, the ones I am using are there.

Tinys kernel, an inverted Gmail and mms apk

For the mms inverted... Flash in recovery. Wipe dalvik, flash, wipe dalvik and reboot
For the inverted Gmail, you have to uninstall the version using TIBU that came with the Gapps package, reboot your phone to recovery, wipe dalvik, reboot, and then use a file manager to install the apk...
And the tiny kernel... Flash just like, or at the same time as the mms.
Also, here is the link to the notification Toggles I am using
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.notificationToggle
I have set it as a system app, has to be reinstalled every time I flash a rom, but in TIBU, once you install the app, got to the second tab where all the apps are listed, hold down on the notification Toggles app, and select convert to system app, a choice near the bottom of the list... Go back into the app and set some of the toggles.
I use wifi, bluetooth, vibrate, gps and system restart.

I am currently using all of these...and love this rom!

Finally caught up to the latest version. Kind of like the lockscreen widgets, although most of the time I forget about them. :p
