[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

Id like to flash jelly belly 1.8. Is GPS fixed though? If not, I am going to pass. What is the recommended way to flash successfully coming from AOKP b40?

Thanks.

Has anyone had issues reconnecting to the Verizon network after a reboot? I'm going to do another reboot, but was curious if this was a known issue.

How can I tell if gps is locking? I don't think it is. When I open maps, in the notification Window it says searching for gps.

I have "dirty flashed" each time from 1.2 all the way up to 1.8. All I do is wipe the cache and flash away. Everything works fine so far. No GPS problems or anything that I am aware of.

For those suffering from BT range you could try this.

Please post back if it helped and I'll add to the OP

Well I guess I'll try it once my battery charges back up enough to flash 1.8... shouldn't take long...

I successfully locked onto GPS this morning with Navigation. Took forever, but it finally locked.

Here's the way to flash from AOKP to Jelly Belly:

Put Jelly Belly 1.8 and gapps dated 7-1-12 in the root of internal memory. You may also want the following zips:

Super Wipe
Wifi/BT Fix

Back up everything on your phone to the PC - including your pictures, videos, music and latest nandroids!

Check the MD5 sums on Jelly Belly & gapps!

Boot into Recovery.

Wipe Data
Wipe Cache
Wipe System
Wipe Dalvik
...or run Super Wipe, which formats all four of them.

Flash Jelly Belly 1.8
Immediately flash gapps 7-1-12

Reboot.

Set up the phone, see if you have a wifi/BT issue. If yuou do, go back into Recovery and flash the fix & reboot.

Enjoy you some awesome Jelly Bean and have fun exploring! :D

Hey Jbdan:

I am not a coder, so I can't vouch for whether or not that BT fix has anything in it other than a BT fix, but I took that bait and I can say this:

THAT BT FIX WORKS! :D

Yesterday I couldn't use my BT headset outside. It would break up and hardly connect if I turned my head wrong. Now, no problems!

Thanks for posting it... feel free to include it in the OP.

What a bummer. Well, nothin' wrong with stock at all on this phone

I do want to say - after using AOKP for SO long, I am highly disappointed finding out somethings that aren't stock...

...such as the option to enable the power button for the camera shutter and the volume rocker for zoom. Come on google.

The volume rocker for changing audio tracks as well... really all should be stock features.

Ok, about to do my first dirty flash ever. No need to wipe anything, not even Cache?

Going from Jelly Belly 1.7 to 1.8

There is no need to wipe anything at all, but feel free to wipe cache if you'd like. It doesn't hurt anything. I follow what the developer says to do and he stated there is no need to wipe anything. It's your choice :)

Great to hear Chief! Thanks

Just did my first ever dirty flash

I feel so dirty :(

Initial notes on 1.8:

- Boots up a helluva lot faster than 1.7
- Just as snappy as before
- Apex Launcher is working again thanks to a developer update
- Still having volume issue (no sounds for any notifications like texts)

Well, If you're not currently sitting in the middle of a freeway, I'd say that's a pretty good indication it's not locking on lol.

Do you have a strong data signal?

Settings> sounds> change ringtone and notification to what you want. Set to silent by default. Hopefully this is the issue

Any way I can tell if GPS is locking on? I don't think it is, Maps is showing me in the middle of the freeway.

Check in the OP and use the third option (Deep Sleep Issue Fixes) for a gps/location fix. It also is a deep sleep fix so you kill 2 birds with one stone....hopefully :p

For anyone having volume issues, for some reason the default ringtone and text tone is set to silent. Fix that, voila sound.

That really is a ridiculous option, why is there an option for a silent ringtone... that's about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

I'm still trying to find out what the "fixed volume issue" change is in the changelog. I had previously thought it was going to boost the volume some like present AOKP and CM9, but it didn't on my end. Anyone else seeing any difference in the volume?

Figured this out. For those that have had issues with volume+ working with JB (well it hasn't until now) it works with 1.8 so get your decibel boost on with volume+ if you're feelin' it

To add....jelly belly v1.9 should drop soon

Thanks jbdan. I wasn't having any deep sleep issues, so I didn't even open that section up.

Thanks!!! I will give it a try.

Can anybody tell me how to use google drive when that's offered as a dl mirror? I mean I'm assuming I need a local copy of the zip file on my phone in order to flash it, but I can't figure out how to physically get it from the cloud onto the phone...I think dropbox has an export option or something like that, but I can't find the google equivalent if that makes sense :(
