[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

I can't believe Jake is throwing updates out so fast. 2.0 already????

He's my nominee for Android Man of the Year.

WHOA: reading Rootzwiki, I'm seeing people losing root with 2.0. It's also breaking GPS. I'm holding off.

That's what I heard from a friend of mine as well. I'm not touching 2.0 at all.

Apparently Jake's throwing 2.1 out now to fix the issues in 2.0.

We'll see if it really fixes them or makes things worse. Oh well, Even George Lucas had his bad movies, so I'll give Jake a bad ROM or two. At the rate he's putting these things out, I'm surprised they're as good as they are - but happy!

Yeah he is releasing them so fast but the bugs are not getting fixed.

Well, my girlfriend can verify the first infinite bootloop with jelly belly 1.9, but i think it was more related to one of the battery mods on the OP. She flashed the block battery icon and when the phone rebooted, she had no notification pane or nav buttons. After clean wiping and trying to re-flash 1.9, it got stuck in the boot with no return. Had to return her to stock 4.02 and she's not happy. Got her back on jelly belly 1.9 afterwards, but she isn't pleased to say the least.

Wow, that's the first real bootloop I've heard of with JBelly.

Did she try to flash everything at once, or did she flash the ROM & gapps, reboot, set up, then go back and flash the add-ons?

And did she wipe Dalvik before AND after the flash?

Not sure why, but Jake indicated a Dalvik wipe AFTER flashing the battery % add-on, that's what I did and it runs brilliantly.

Just flashed 2.0 and lost root? I have the SU app and every time I load it up I get "The SU binary needs updated. Continue?" Hit update and it fails. :( any suggestions?

I don't think she wiped dalvik after the flash. It wasn't the circle percent one, it was the block one from the list of different ones. Maybe that one wasn't compatible with 1.9, or the missed dalvik wipe did it. Either way, everything has been set back up minus that battery mod, and everything important was already back up in some way.

Waiting on you, Jbdan, our favorite and well-loved guinea pig! :)

Got root again by flashing the supersu zip posted over at xda. Just flashed 2.1 and everything seems good. Haven't found any issues so far.

You know, folks, I've been thinking about this for a few hours.

It seems to me that 1.9 is currently the peak of development for Jelly Belly. 2.0 came out and botched a few things; 2.1 is a catch-up to help fix it.

I'm of the mind-set that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". 1.9 works perfectly on my Nexus; it's a great daily driver, and unless there is compelling reason for me to flash something newer (such as AOKP-style enhancements or customization options), I think I'm going to STAY on 1.9.

Do I really NEED to flash the newest version just to stay on the bleeding edge of development? Nah. I NEED a phone that works and works well. I WANT Jelly Bean. And I currently have both.

So I applaud you flashaholic folks who flash the latest just because it's there to flash: you have at it. I'll be right here, monitoring it all... but I simply don't need to flash 2 ROMs a day to stay current if the one I'm on works great.

My 0.02 :)

Just flashed 2.1 (from stock). Home button doesn't work for anything? It seems I have to back out of all applications rather than simply hitting home?

This might be a dumb question but how do I know if I lost root? I flashed 2.0 when it came out and haven't had any problems.

The only dumb question here is the one not asked :)

If you can't get root access for your root-using apps, or if Superuser is empty/gone, you probably lost root. If you flashed it with NO issues, CONGRATS!

Superuser is empty under the apps section but then again I don't have any apps that require root at the moment.

Actually got caught up I won't have a chance to flash 2.1 today so I'll flash 2.2 when it drops tonight :p (j/k)

For those on 2.1 how is the beats apk thingy working have y'all noticed any change in volume and/or sound?

Yeah until SU has a request it won't show anything so by it being empty upon a new flash does NOT mean you've lost root necessarily
