[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

Actually got caught up I won't have a chance to flash 2.1 today so I'll flash 2.2 when it drops tonight :p (j/k)

For those on 2.1 how is the beats apk thingy working have y'all noticed any change in volume and/or sound?

I haven't updated to 2.1 but if its the same as 2.0 there's not much of a difference. Not sure what to do but I jacked up all the EQ settings and still couldn't hear my txt notification in a restaurant today. Kind of disappointing.

I installed the akp and it still wont give me su permission. I still get that the binary is out of date and to update it then it fails. :(

Then I'd go into recov and wipe dalvik and cache partition then install v2.1 (or v1.9 whichever you'd prefer)

Funny thing is that the GN stock had this same volume level as JellyBelly/Bean does atm. I got so used to the volume boost in custom ROMS that I had forgotten how low the ext speaker volume is on a stock GN. It's not horrible imo, but certainly low. It's been an easy thing for me to deal with as I have the SGS3 sounds though and they're loud, like they've been boosted. Here is that thread if you haven't located it yet

How did you flash the ROM?

You'll flash gapps that same way :)

With CWM. After flashing all of my apps (including CWM) are gone. I do not have any file managers so I cannot browse to any zips or apk's.

I even tried to download the CWM apk and email it to myself. I actually got the attachment (an apk) but it tells me "There is no installed app that can open this attachment. Try downloading an appropriate app from Android Market."

Internet icon does nothing either.

EDIT: Oops. It has been a while! I see the post above and the lights come on!

I'm really stuck here!

Hold on a second....CWM= clockworkmod recovery. Sounds like you're talking about RM aka rom manager. Am I correct? If so you can boot into recovery (which should be CWM I assume) by doing what I posted above in reply to CaucasionJ

Thanks I'll check them out. When I first got the Gnex that was my only complaint then I rooted and used Volume+ and it cured that issue.

Maybe I'll give volume+ a try soon I've never tried it. I was always too scared of accidentally blowing my ext speaker and was even more afraid to have to ask for another GN as the one I hold is original from launch day and I feel like I got a good one. With all the hoopla that has gone on with the GN and it's issues I happened to get one that I've been very satisfied with.

NEWB question: If im currently running liquid smooth rom, all i need to do is DL this JB rom, do a complete wipe, then install using cwm, then reboot? :o

Add in a gapps flash immediately after the ROM flash and the answer is yes!

I'd preface it with a backup of your sdcard to your PC and a nandroid of your present ROM. gl :)

Hey, guys, this is my first attempt at putting this ROM on my phone. I keep getting "E: Can't open /sdcard/jellybelly-2.1.zip(bad) Installation aborted.

What's the deal? I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. Thanks!

Edit: Nevermind. I was trying to install 2.1 but I never could download what I believe to be the full-size file. Tried 1.9 and the file was obviously closer to the right size. Installed it without a single problem. Thanks anyways!

GOD bless you guys! Awesome community!

Everything is running smooth on JB. My wifi signal is pretty crappy though. I thought I saw a fix for it at one time but I can only find the BT fix (not sure if I need that one yet!). Can someone point me to the WiFi fix (if there is one).

THanks!

A little hesitant at first after reading some of the issues, but I decided to take the plunge and install Jelly Belly 2.1. Wow! JB is very smooth and everything seems to be working. GPS locked in under 10 seconds, strong Wi-Fi signal, bluetooth pairs with my car stereo, and root intact. Not sure about Beats, tho. I can hear my modified sound settings (DRC enabled - extreme, Beats Boost enabled - moderate, Beats EQ enabled - Rock preset, Loudness disabled, and HVRE enabled - Large room) when playing music through Play Music. Then, when navigating back to Awesome Beats I lose those settings while music continues to play. So, I flashed DSP manager and the sound settings stay enabled after navigating away from Play Music while music continues to play. Although, DSP Manager does not have an app icon and sound effects only list Beats and Music FX as options. Anyway, looking forward to checking battery life if I can put this phone down.

Has anyone tried the navbar customization tool located in the Galaxy Nexus Themes section on xda?
I have not, but thought it was for maguro only....I'll look into it. You wanna be the guinea pig and test it out for us nuts o'er here :p

If you're on latest JB the WIFI fix is built in (from mwalt2 @ xda). You shouldn't be having any issues. Are you getting slow speeds and/or disconnects or is it showing low bars on the wifi icon in the notification bar?

Awesome to hear! Thanks for the feedback & please do post about your battery life experience

Might be just the bars (certainly showing lower bars though). Will test it out to see how speeds are affected...

You could try flashing the wifi fix (at your own risk of course, it shouldn't mess with anything but don't take my word...) located in this thread. But so you know, it is in the ROM already.

I want to be but due to my Windows noobness I can't figure it out based on the instructions :-/ so I was hoping someone could explain them to me

Wow, 2.1 already? Crazy.

On another note, I want to take a minute to throw out a special thanks to jbdan for all the work he has put in for this thread, and the VZW GNex ATR section in general. He has definitely gone above and beyond for the community. Make sure if you haven't already, to thank the OP and any other posts that helped you. :)
