[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

TWRP has the options of Cache, Dalvik, Factory Reset, System, and 2 others.

This time I did system, Factory, and Dalvik. Factory is supposed to wipe data and the cache.

Chief, are you running lean kernel?

Edit: I don't even know what this is, but I've heard it mentioned before. It sounds like it would be faster.

Stock right now, but ran it well on 3.2...

EDIT: The face unlock fix WORKED!

I'll see how my battery life is on the stock Linaro kernel... then I might flash Lean again. Ginny likes it :)

im going back to aokpb40 for now... had some issues with 3.3 and the keyboard just crashing, google play crashing, and signal restoration. i think i am just all around sick and tired of this phone :( nothing works right stock or not :( but o well stuck for a moment

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. If stock isn't working, then you need a new phone because it is broken somehow; not because the Gnex is a "bad phone".

If that is not the case, I am positive it might be an issue with certain apps/settings not playing well with others and therefore, causing crashes all around. Otherwise, everything should be pretty clean and smooth. In fact, I would venture to say that this phone is the easiest to ROM and flash with.

My advice to you would be to start deleting apps that you have installed that you think might be the reason for the crashes and single out which one(s) are causing the issues. I have had to do this before. In fact, a good chunk of apps I had on my Droid X were causing some substantial issues with my Gnex when I first set the phone up. I couldn't figure out why it was so slow until I started removing the apps one by one and the system started responding.

Just my $.02...

Check out the sgs3 then. I love it and think it is a most worthy upgrade over the GN.

Cool but link not working for me Chief?

edit:
ok i found it on rootz but it didn't work for me for some reason? It's there in /system/lib...1.2 MB in size after reboot. Hmmm, not a huge deal but interesting that it works for some and not others.

Okay, voice synthesis is fixed!

https://dl.dropbox.c...gine_jni_api.so

Download or transfer to your phone
Open Root Explorer and COPY this file
Navigate to /system/lib
Mount R/W
Paste
Mount R/O
Exit Root Explorer
Reboot

I have "speak now" voice prompt again!
That's one more thing fixed: this ROM is almost perfect!

Where was you having problems with "speak now" voice thingy not working? I'm on 3.3 and mine is working, at least when I'm using it in Handcent, haven't tried anywhere else.

Also, does anyone know if the circle battery mods work in 3.3?

That is weird. Did you re-boot? This is strange how so many people have such different results from the same ROM.

Dark Cyber, the 1% battery mod works, as does the power menu mod... Although people are reporting problems with that one.

All I use is the circle battery, haven't even tried the power menu. Someone posted a long time back that JB was so fast you couldn't really tell anything with the power menu...so I never installed it :)

Chief,

Where were you seeing the voice problem at?

And has anyone tried any different kernels on 3.3?

Well, by power menu I was referring to the mod that lets you boot to recovery and reboot right in the power menu. Voice my voice issue was no voice in google navigation and no speak now prompt in bluetooth voice dial. That is now resolved

OK, got it. I don't use either of those, so guess that's why I didn't know where it was broke. The only voice thing I use is in handcent.

The voice in Google Navigation didn't work at first but I tried a second time and it worked fine. I have not changed anything per your post (#1383).

Edit: I have to back and try a second time for every location that I want to navigate to. I guess it is broken. I don't want to have to do that twice every time.
