i have been using instagram for my photos for a while and am very pleased with the results

I actually have them autosyncing to google+ but the grandparents aren't tech savvy at all. One grandparent doesn't have a computer or internet. The only computer she ever had was an ibm thinkpad with a monochrome screen running 3.1. LOL.

MMS on wifi B.O.R.K.E.D my phone- on this rim anywayswd....

Had to superwipe and reformat..jeez.
Okay back up and running again. Memo to self...don't do that again.
 
If I were just entering the scene, I'd clean flash 3.5 as it was near perfect with seemingly everything working. As evidenced here, 3.6 has the MMS issue, other than that, it's every bit as good. Just saying...the pages of a thread like this go by fast and the bits of info can be difficult to assimilate after awhile.

So to review, crackflashers are on 3.6 (read IBT et. al :D). Anyone looking for the optimal experience and just getting into the game might want to consider going with 3.5 for now (+ associated Gapps) and then see what the future holds.

was into 3.6 before the wisdom.. i'll go with it for now. but I do have to know.. how did I go from barely able to get a 3G signal in my house to getting 3 bars of 4G?? or are these just fake bars?

So I was testing the MMS issue with 3.6 and was unable to send over wifi or 3G/4G (it just hung and said "sending"). I tried several times and now I have it working. Here's what I did:

  1. Turn off wifi
  2. Reboot to recovery
  3. Wipe cache
  4. Wipe Dalvik cache
  5. Fix permissions
  6. Reboot into system
  7. Send MMS prior to turning wifi on (just the way I did it...don't know if it is necessary)
  8. Enable wifi and send MMS to ensure it works
 
Update on mine..yeah tried the MMS on WiFi and it got stuck...tried to reboot...that's what did me in. Boot looped and recovery looped etc...finally wiped completely after the 5th battery pull..and got it all back.
I think I am going to stick with 3.6 with stock kernel for now, and my 5 inverted mods. That should do for me till morning at least or whenever 3.7 drops...lol

BTW..I will also be posting up a drop box that's we can use on this thread as a mirror. I will add in the ROM and Gapps as well as keep an archive folder. I will also add the utilities like super wipe, boot loader and radios, and I will have a folder with the mods that I am running. these may not work for you!!

Question: Who uses and trusts Goo Manager?

I suppose that's the easiest way to flash TWRP 2.2, but this automated ROM updating thing spooks me. I'LL update my ROMs, thank you.

Is it all that it's cracked up to be? Am I reading this whole updating thing wrong?

You don't have to do the auto updates. You can just download and flash as normal, but for any ROMs on ROM Manager, (JellyBelly isn't) you could download + autoflash. Not mandatory, optional. Useful for downloading ROMs. Downloaded most AOKP builds that way even when I wasn't using TWRP and didn't autoflash

I use it to flash JB. Works great, except for one time that something odd happened and I got left in some hybrid state between two versions. I was trying to clean wipe anyways, so I just redid the clean wipe and it was good to go from there.

I just wish Jake got JB on goo.im, then it would automatically download the images for me! :D

I should mention, I download the images separately, usually on a computer, because the mirrors usually being used tend to have captchas that seem to work better on my computer instead of my phone.
 
Well, I'm far more comfortable doing that stuff in Recovery, where I can do fast damage control if something goes wrong. Apparently, though, Goo Manager is the best way to flash the newest TWRP 2.2 Touch Recovery. I will likely flash 2.2 and then uninstall Goo :p

I personally see little other use for it...

That's what I did too Chief. I like TWRP so far, and now with the keyboard can do file maintenance as well. Working well.
Ummm....no 3.7 yet? Huh...morning all!
 
For those who would rather just flash the thing in Recovery than mess with Goo Manager or fastboot:

TWRP 2.2.0 *flashable zip* Toro and Maguro - Galaxy Nexus - RootzWiki

You will want to download & flash the TORO version. DO NOT FLASH MAGURO!

EDIT: Did what it was supposed to do... and I love the option to name your backup!

Question: What's the best way to delete old Nandroids off your phone? I have a CWMR backup that I no longer need, but I am now using TWRP. Any advice is appreciated. Even if it doesn't pertain to the topic.

Seriously, ANY advice is appreciated. :-)

Use a file eplorer and browse to sdcard/clockworkmod/backup then delete the backup. You could also just delete the clockworkmod folder completely since you will no longer need it for backups.
 
Weird...is anyone else's lock screen music controls not coming up?
EDIT: Figured it out. Doesn't appear on Bluetooth playback
