Help Version Update?

My understanding is that, if your account isnt flagged, the update just wont start at all.

it might fail for a lot of reasons, but if its not there, just like shatterproof reported, it just wont start.

I dont believe it would fail for whatever reason, either its there, or its not,

and so far thats what Ive seen, people either get it ( like many so far ) or dont, like shatterproof and i bet there are others out there too.

But lets wait and see :)

Just make sure you follow the instructions to the dot, and dont deviate, be cause THAT might cause problems..

Best of luck!

Hey shatterproof ( and any others who have tried it with no go...)

What is your Phone Status for CDMA, LTE etc,,I read a post of ciper's mentioning what it would be at if the update failed..I trieed it didn't work as well..I'm at CDMA EA29 and LTE EA17

I bet you have Basebade CDMA EE07, LTE ED15 but build number EA29

And that is exactly why I dont suggest everyone to do this unless they have reinstalled all of the bloatware (essentially making the phone back to stock)"

Thanks!!
Everything is still the same for me not one thing changed, but like Roddiy said it just means that our phones werent flagged for the update, but the ppl whos phones started the update and got a failed message, I think they are the ones who Ciper is talking about.

I dont think it has anything to do with forcing the update though, All you're doing by forcing the update is getting it earlier,

You're not getting anything different than you would otherwise get if you waited months for it

Its so ironic for me. I saw the instructions about how to force check for the update last night and decided to try it this morning. So I wake up and turn my phone on then go to restroom. When I get out I decide to go recheck the instructions carefully but as soon as I turn on the screen i see an "enhancement complete" messase. My freakin phone beat me to the punch hahahaha. Now to charge it up and test battery life.

EDIT: I checked and my radio firmwares have been updated.

Well in a change of topics, so far since updating ( Update yesterday )

my phone has had better signal, and deffinetely more Accurate ( not necessarily better ) 4G coverage, what I mean is that, before, It would say i had 4G, but when I tried to download something, or go onto the internet, 4G would suddenly disappear, ( which means that I didnt really have 4G )

now, If it says 4G on the top, I have 4G, if it doesnt, it doesnt, period.

And in so far my day, my battery has been EXCEPTIONAL! where by now Id have ~60% battery ( Ive been up and off teh charger since 8am, its 12 pm local) right now im at 87%

this is just great!

Yeah you guys should just be patient and keep waiting instead of trying to force anything. I believe this update was first sent out around May 18th or something around that, and my phone just got it today...nearly a month later...so as you can see they're still slowly but surely shooting these out.

And yes, the battery usage seems to have improved a bit as I haven't put the phone into 1X mode at all today and I'm still at 70% after a full charge, which is pretty good after 4 hours

So how many of us got the update last night. That must have been a major push by metro... I counted at least four so far in the florida area. Any non south people got it last night? Maybe metro is trying to do it by region instead now:)

Update was pushed through using the push instructions. It was rooted and bloat ware removed. Been off charge 3 hours, 5 calls, 3 text messages, 1 email and still at 85 percent. 4g was turned off except when texting. This phone was purchase on 1 June and I have had no failed updates. Overall performance is excellent.

I jus forced the update to my phone and everything enter well.... the only thing that got improved was my 4g signal. Everything else still sucks. Battery still dies fast, phone still takes forever to charge and the phone still over heats.... they need to seen out a new update... and I live in south Florida....

If the update is working you will see the following screen within 30 second on LTE or 2 and a half minutes on 1x -

The phone will then reboot and when its done you should be back at your home screen with the following message if everything worked properly

Ok I'll try my best 2make this short. I tried 2force the update last night and when it didn't wrk I removed all the bloatware again, well jus a min ago I was looking at your screenshot and seen the launcher was Tw and it reminded me that I moved a lot of that out of system/app and placed them on my Sd card. There's a thread on here showing what's ok to move and what's not. Well I went ahead and put them all back into System/App and before I could even click on metro appstore I started to receive the update. HOWEVER.... It failed and said to go to the nearest metro store. I know I'm screwed but what can I do 2help others??

What if we have that failed update? I can turn on my screen by pressing the home buttons, but radio firmware are the same.

Don't panic. You'll get the new system and instructions to update the radios with the ROM. The radio update is not foolproof, but thanks to Samsuck, we cannot give you the foolproof update method.

Oh I was just wondering if getting te failed update from awhile ago meant we were flagged. Looking forward to that rom.

Phone was off charger for about 11 hours with about 70 minutes of calling, ~30 sms, ~30 minutes of messenger app usage and watched the entire preinstalled iron man movie and ~10 minutes of web all the while 4G was ON and battery still at 45%. Before update battery would have been long dead, so far so good :)

BTW im in 408 area south of San Fransisco with a non force install update so they showing cali some love now.

i just called my nearest Metro Pcs store and the guy told me he can update my indulge for $10.
The funny part is that i don't have a indulge, but i do want to buy it and i have one question:
Does the update improve the battery life? (if yes, how much?)

It varies from phone to phone but mine has at least seen a 200% increase in battery life. The real difference I have seen is in stanby mode with LTE ON with a good LTE signal.

lol, what is stanby mode. I never had a phone, can u still send messages and use the web and call?
And what do u mean by 200%? how long did it last u before and how long does it last u now?

well standby is when you are not using the phone.

200% increase means double.

so the battery would only increase if u are not using the phone?
what if we are texting and surfing the web? how much would it last?

any battery will last longer when it is idle/standby. i thought that was common sense.

nobody can give you a specific time frame for how long your phone is going to last. we just gave you our experiences, the battery lasts longer now then it did before, for our current usage situations. everyone uses their phone differently, has different apps installed/uninstalled and has different areas of coverage.

What confed said is right. The improvement depends heavily on where you live and how you use the phone.
The "standby" mode of the phone has improved but the power usage during heavy data transfers is the same. Meaning if your phone previously lasted 8 hours it may last 14 now but if it only lasted 3 hours because you were downloading torrents over LTE it probably wont change much.

In other words my battery life is much better on the days I dont use the phone as much
