VZE Froyo 2.2.2 Update Discussion Thread

Ok well that isnt a update cause you would have had to access the app most likely the phone crashed but if it isnt rooted you should be ok if you pull the battery also just take it into verizon if the batt pull doesnt work

Will do! Ill probably go back to velocity until may 3rd and install it. And i dont know nearly enough to do this but couldnt somebody pull the apk for the update utility and see just what role it plays?
 
Well i just completed the update. I know it wont do most of you any good because im not rooted. I got the text and downloaded the update but it said no update available try later. So i got curious and used the lg updater and got the update through there. Took about 15 mins. Doesnt seem any different. Phone still works just fine. Just for kicks i went back to the update utility app and a pop up came up and said this app is no longer needed, please uninstall. I clicked ok and it went right to the uninstall prompt. hit ok and its gone. Sorry i cant help you rooted guys but i figured id post anyway.
 
Literally as I sit here reading this thread, I recieve the very same text message from VZW. I feel like they are watching me or something.

Go to "settings" "about phone". Whats the "Android Version" number? And "Baseband Version" number?
 
Just as I suspected, they are playing catchup with a few minor bugfixes that they should have included in the last update. The SMS recipient bug is a pretty big deal, we will incorporate these in a patch to velocity when they become available, don't stress about it you wont need to worry about it as we will only need one person to pull it and I can get it done.

Not really a big deal but since the update it wiped out all my text messages. I use chomp for sms. I got a force close message right after update but didnt think much of it. Went into chomp to send a message and the list of recent contacts with the messages were all gone. just sent out a text to see if it works still. ill post when i know if it does or not.


Got a text back so chomp still works. Just lost current conversations.
 
Dots posted release notes from verizon about the update in irc and it didn't seem like it had anything worth going back to stock.
 
man im happy with velocity 1.0 not shure i want this....and im not shure how "manditory" it is.... it lists what it fixes and i could give a rats A*#!

and this screen shot scares me...I DONT LIKE CHANGE I LIKE IT THE WAY IT IS!

My wife just dl'ed the app, but there's no update available, not even through the update thing in settings. Anyone know what's up?
