What's the weather like where you are?

Fifty five degrees at 10:30 AM... I like! With zero wind and a full blue sky this is going to be a beautiful day for this time of year. I suspect it's way too much to expect but man it would be wonderful if I had this weather across the Thanksgiving holiday. On a Tuesday, during the work week, this weather is basically wasted.

It's been 179 days since it rained in SoCal. :o

From KNBC:
"The region's last measurable rainfall was May 26, 2019, and that was just .04 inches."

Please, collectively, cross your fingers: it's supposed to rain, starting tonight!

By the way, our 90+ degree temperatures broke several records the last few days...

well it's official.....i just got rained on. it wasn't a downpour. it is sort of sprinkling right now. it is supposed to come down tomorrow though.

weird....it was like in the 90's just yesterday!!!!!!

Congratulations! :D

Still nothing here yet.

I know. It was 93 here in my valley yesterday. It's funny seeing things on TV about the cold winter weather, like 'stock up on coats!'--and my air conditioner's still blasting.

all i can say is that there is nothing like the smell of the first rain of the season. it smells so clean and fresh......i love the rain!!!!!!!!
I love that smell, too! And--having grown up here--I always loved rain.

When my husband and I lived in Florida [his home state], there would be a gentle rain every day, and we'd go for long walks in it--never mind silly things like umbrellas or raincoats! Ah, to be young again...

But when we lived in Dallas...Tornado Alley...weeks on end of torrential downpours--that turned our backyard into a lake--soured me on rain. I went from loving it to dreading it. :(

Being back here for 13 years, much of it during drought, has definitely pushed me back to being a rain lover, not dread-er! :)

The first rain in 6 months is going to make the roads very slick, so drivers need to be extra cautious.

--------- It's "its" damn it! ---------

I'm glad you are getting some rain on the coast. It rained here over night and a bit more late this afternoon here in Oz. There is a slight chance of rain tomorrow morning with temps near freezing. I don't anticipate a slick commute tomorrow and I hope I'm right.

Luckily it's been pouring down here in San Diego, so no fire threats as of now.
I'm so happy to hear that! I hope there's more on its way for you.

We got a little here in Arcadia yesterday--it was even hailing for a few minutes! And it's snowing in the local mountains, even at elevations as low as 5500 feet, so it's a good sign of what's hopefully on its way.

Can you see it? Water--rain!--on my driveway! I was so excited I had to snap a pic. The other day, my helper said it was hailing! :o We haven't had a lot of rain [or hail] here in Arcadia, but other areas around SoCal have.

And snow! A lot of it, both in our local mountains--all the way down to less than 2,000' elevation--plus up north of here a few miles.

Yay for precipitation, in any of its forms! :D

I'm happy for you Moody. I would say that your area was more than desperate for some moisture.

It's been nice here the past few days. A bit of wind but it is Kansas after all. Tomorrow, with the holiday and all, a wintry mix is in for forecast. Accumulations of one to two inches is all. Just enough to force everyone inside all day and making traveling a bit tricky.

Lawn tip of the day: Cut grass 1/4" above dirt prior to leaves falling creates a smooth friction free surface for leaves to continue their journey to the neighbor's yard.

A third inch of rain/snow/sleet/whatever fell early this morning. Temps are just over the freezing mark so the roads are decent but man it's lousy out side.

Tons of TV coverage of the snowfall, and the ensuing traffic mess it made, in both the Cajon Pass and Tejon Pass [which I always get mixed up]. And ALL the roads from LA into Big Bear are closed. All that snow, but snowboarding/skiing Angelenos can't make use of it! :o

Still raining here in Arcadia. Nice, steady rain--truly something to be thankful for! :D

The weather here has been pretty crummy across the weekend. The temps have been in the mid to upper thirties with rain and lots of wind. It's been a great weekend to stay inside and eat leftovers.
