What's the weather like where you are?

It's nice now, short sleeve weather! In the 40s with lots of sunshine. But oh, it's about to get brutal! Low single digits with wind chills in the negative teens??? This is middle Tennessee and we didn't sign up for this!

Can you say blizzard conditions? Winds out of the north at 26 and gusting into the mid 50 mph range. -4.9° with wind chills dropping into the negative thirties. Heavy horizontal snow with visibility less than a quarter mile. At times, I can't see across my street. It's not a fit day for man nor beast.

Thanks for the preview of what we'll be seeing in a few hours.

I'm jealous of your rain. Though it's been warm here of late, it's been extremely arid. I don't look forward to another dry year. Any moisture is welcome around these parts.

Like someone poured in the weaping angelic faces as the snowmen awoke from the diamonds, and saw right through, created a wind for the knives we tend to lay on its back..

It started snowing around 10 AM and has continued to fall. The temperature is just above freezing with the snow sticking to the yards but not the street. Two to four inches predicted before the system move out. There is zero wind so the snow is actually pretty to watch fall. We need the moisture so no complaints.

It was very nice today. Very little wind and temps in the mid fifties in late January is very nice. So nice I had to go hit a bucket of golf balls this morning and then put 15 miles on the bicycle. Tomorrow is to be a few degrees cooler and then some days in the mid twenties and snow are forecasted. One has to take advantage of a rare warm day like today.

It got into the low fifties late yesterday. It was nice enough to spend time of the deck, soaking up some rays, and enjoying the day. This morning it was 16° with a brisk North wind. Kansas.....

Still stuck in the 20s here with no sign of it getting warmer, and our second week without sunlight. This area of KY tends to get 6 months of winter and up to 3 weeks without the sun in January/February. We don't often see Spring weather until mid-april.

But at least my vintage electric heaters work perfectly fine!

When I used to work for my dad, I was inputting FAA medical forms into a computer system that ran Windows 98SE. Soon as you'd launch Internet Explorer it defaulted to a page with a little 'weather widget' that was stuck on Anchorage, AK and wouldn't let you set it elsewhere. In July the warmest it showed was 47-50 F. So I'm sure my intolerance of the mid 20's here makes folks in Alaska laugh since it's their version of spring. I would never want to live where it's winter all year long. Never understood the fondness for Alaska. All I can picture are hunters with missing teeth and snow everywhere all year round. Maybe the film Snow Dogs gave me a bad stereotype of Alaska. Come to think of it, the book and subsequent movie White Fang didn't exactly paint a good picture of Alaska, either.
