Root ZTE Zmax Pro Official Root Discussion

I'd like to say one more thing before I pretty much leave the Zmax forums. The fact that many people ignored me and Messi did not help a single bit.
We have no EDL access. The black screen is still the FTM mode, I confirmed it with the QPST tool.

I made it clear that a CVE would be the fastest and safest way of rooting, but instead of people talking about that, they spammed the thread with update questions... Which has nothing to do with obtaining root because we never had root so it wouldnt matter if b14 patched something or not.

Those who didnt know what a CVE was would rather just sit there and say "idk what it means" instead of spending 30 seconds on Google reading about it.

This thread has been derailed countless times. So much infact that the mods dont even fix it anymore. ZTE is crappy, but the way the community here handled this thread and the previous thread didnt do well either. If you are not willing to learn and willing to take risks, please dont post here.

I can't do anything with a CVE. I'm not a developer. You're telling the wrong people. Someone at some point a few days ago mentioned begging some more devs besides just Messi, you need to do that. You seem to know what you're talking about, you may convince some more people to help. Other than that, please go complain with us on the ZTE forum and spread that thread as much as you can.

no they are changeable according to the build you are upgrading from/to
Maybe there isn't anything more you can do yourself but look at what I told Anubis. Please don't give up. Don't you know anyone who might help? Even if not, at least go to z community and add to the demand thread.

We can all set an example. Do you want it to be that we give up, or do you want it to be that we won't stand for our freedom being withheld? Even if you buy another device in the meantime, there is no reason to abandon your Zmaxes. You can't return them after the first week anyways, at least not to MetroPCS. Get your OnePlus or your Galaxy or what have you, but please don't leave this community. We're already severely underrepresented as it is. You'll be leaving those of us who can't buy another device in the dust without even the small hope we have now.

Honestly that's our only hope matreyuc. But if this phone don't get root by March I'm out . It's the best budget phone ever I agree. But I want my freedom. So I'm getting a preditor 6 unless I get root

Show yourself out or do something to contribute OK... IV tried every method IV seen on here. It's hopeless let's all show ourselves out . ZTE does not care about there customer

I hope you guys obtain root. However, the phone is an amazing device even without it. I believe that ZTE neglects OS upgrades on their budget phones to encourage users to upgrade to a newer model with a newer OS a few years down the road.

I really don't see why a company like ZTE doesn't embrace the users that like to root their phone. It really isn't that large of a group, but it's usually a very vocal group. A good analogy would be how the grateful dead handled their music being bootlegged by fans. Where most groups discouraged bootlegs, the dead ENCOURAGED it. It ended up being an amazing promotion for them and helped lead to their long term success. ZTE should just encourage rooting and supply all the tools needed. What better promotion?

But... regarding this phone in particular. It's a solid phone even without root.

Is there a way to block people so you dont see there post

Note: I don't think you can ignore moderators.

You gotta give people a break when it's real slow. I get the CVE thing. There's also the chance on stumbling upon a break to with alternative adb commands, hardware tricks etc

The ZMax Pro is a subsidized budget handset, shouldn't expect ZTE or T-Metro to cave and forfeit their tools because 10 people are demanding root... I didn't expect root, nor was it contingent on my decision to buy this thing lol.... Too bad. @ZMAX4EVER you're right. Without root it's a good phone, but would have been nice to root just to fix a few goofy UI issues. Still a good purchase. I'll keep an eye out here, hopefully something good comes along.

This isn't aimed at Anubis as he has shared what has and hasn't worked on his end.

I've been willing to give anything a shot and have. I've attempted several of the CVEs on my own as there wasn't any real discussion of actually executing them on either thread. I'm fully aware of what they are. I don't think you have been ignored, but not everyone knows what they are, or which ones would apply to this phone. I messaged one of the mods about quadrooter and my attempts with it months ago and received no response. I've learned most from my own searches, and GitHub. Most conversations here have been an idea tossed out. I see a lot of "I'm working on it", but no explanation of what is being worked on. We can't really help each other like that.

I am not familiar with .mbn files. I know that I have come across some for this phone but cant remember if it was in the files on the phone or the kernel source. There were multiple files. Also, when I open the .mbn test app on the phone I get a "device not properly configured.please configure device" warning before app closes. Like I said,im unfamiliar with these files.
