Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Just curious what everyone's plans are? If you're traveling by air I wish you good luck, after watching the Today Show, it sounds like a complete dumpster fire.

I'll be heading to pickup my tax deduction ( as @The_Chief would say ) from college on Monday and return her on Sunday.

On Thanksgiving we'll have my dad over with the sister and her crew coming from Nash-Vegas.

Looking forward to having the daughter home. She hasn't been home since July 23rd as she plays college soccer and can't come home in the fall semester because of the commit it involves.

Trying to install Android auto in my Mazda CX 5 (2019) was only a partial succes. Starting the procedure I did not see any Android Auto sign (blue arrow) on the screen of the car. By touching the text Android Auto on the car screen the App Launcher appeared on the car screen. The app launcher was visible but touching the diffent apps shown there did not result in any action. On my phone I see two messages: one that says “Android Auto is connected with Mazda” and “Android Auto should be updated”

Specs of my phone: Android 14, Processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Version Android Auto: 13.1.644253

Anybody an idea what I missed here or a solution?

Greetings, I'm using Android15 on a Pixel 6 smartphone with Google Messages app. How do I enable sms text messaging notifications for Google Messages app, please?

The Settings->Notifications has "Google Play Services" and "Messages" enabled, but the lack of notifications is causing me some trouble.

I have the file ready to go, but mail.com is not listed as an option. Looking online shows how with email generally, not that specifically. I think I have sent them a message about that and maybe they'll reply.

I was wondering how to set it up when I put in another device such as my old moto edge plus?

It's a Moto G 5 g, I think from Cricket. It claims that wifi calling is available, but then it says try again later. The slider to on slides right back. What am I missing?

This is absolutely awesome. I've seen actual people that do this but an Al grandma is great.

I replaced the default gallery with 'Fossify Gallery app' (current version 1.2.1)
I set the default gallery to 'Fossify Gallery' (Settings/Apps/Manage apps/(3 dots)/Other settings/Default apps/)
When I take a photo with the camera app and click on the thumbnail, I would expect it to open the photo in the gallery that is set as the default, but it does not! It tries to open the 'native' gallery app - the one that came with the phone pre-installed?! (It can not open it as I stripped the native app of all it's permissions)
I tried other Gallery apps and the result is the same, so the issue is not with 'Fossify Gallery'
Strangely I can open the Camera app from within the 'Fossify Gallery'??! but not the other way around!?
I haven't tried to install other 'Camera apps' as the native one takes decent photos and I'm not sure that other camera apps would be able to utilize all the 'Hardware'

It looks like it. Good thing too, that thing they tried was a mess! The size and position was always changing, and you sometimes couldn't even see it because it camouflaged itself when there were similar colors on the main screen behind it!

College basketball is upon us. I'll be rooting for my local U Wichita State University that competes in the American Atlantic Conference and Kansas University that plays in the Big 12. Both conferences have added and lost teams with the now popular conference hopping that's prevalent. New blood and lost rivals makes it difficult to guess how teams will do. Not that I was every any good at predicting the sport.

I recently upgraded to Windows 11 Home and have a notice from security that 2 old drivers are interfering with implementing full memory virtual security.

In the past (windows 7) I had a Brother psc machine. When I moved up to Win 10 it was not compatible so I got a Cannon.

I have removed the software from the Brother but these are still hiding somewhere :

Originally celebrated for the day WWI officially ended and evolved into a yearly celebration to honor those that served or are serving to insure the freedoms of this great nation. so i was talking to my friend about torrents and he mentioned that back in the day he had a bunch of torrents on the tv series Lost. i almost forgot about that show. i remember when it came out, it was all the buzz right up to the shows finale(which i actually liked, but most people did not). it ruled TV in those days. i forgot just how insanely popular it was.

....then i just saw that there is a documentary that was made from an independent film maker with no release date. its called Getting Lost.

it looks really good. i hope it becomes available to watch.

....and then i saw that Netflix has it.....so....now i am watching all over again. i really think that it still holds up 20 years later.

anybody want to talk about Lost? have you seen it? do you remember the hype? did you like it or hate it? we can also talk about the finale if you like.

I got (stuck with) a chromebook sone time ago and now I can't find my posts about it. Where did they go? I don't want to have to go through that again.

Oops, I did it again. Something did, anyway. The only decent thing about it is that I can scroll through the options this time. What should I choose, recovery mode? What do I do after that? Will I lose any data, or accidentally do a factory reset?

Between marketing calls and fraudulent calls… I'd like the phone to only 1) ring if it's from someone in my phonebook, and 2) notify if the caller left a voice message. Otherwise, it should remain silent.

Is there a free/one-time fee application that does this?

FWIW, my phone is running Android 13 within the Evolver EvolutionX ROM.
