Can't get the "blue lock" to stop.

The setting is called "accidental touch protection". As of writing, it's in settings > display > accidental touch protection. I know that this is 3 years late, but hopefully it can help people in the future. I'm also disappointed that no one was able to give the name of the setting, especially samsung's own support line. I can understand people on the internet not knowing since this was probably a new setting at the time, but samsung themselves? That's sad.

Question about battery in LG

Smartphone batteries typically are not interchangeable between models, they're pretty much specific to each model. Basically, you're lucky that battery you hacked up didn't result in something like a minor explosion. Keep in mind that a lithium-ion battery contains a lot of chemicals and stores a relatively large amount of power so intentionally cutting into one involves some risk. There are established limitations and restrictions on shipping phone batteries because they're a potential danger, a lot of retailers just rely upon on ground shipping because of the stricter regulations shipping by air.

Save yourself a lot of hassle and just buy a battery that's made for your particular phone model.

Help Android 12: swipe up from bottom often doesn't work

It appears to be an OS issue starting with Android 12 that numerous Pixel users have encountered; e.g.:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixe...2022/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

Meanwhile, here's my most up-to-date version of the workaround: When in an app, if swipe up (to bring up the opened-app selector) is not working (besides haptic feedback), swipe down to show the notification center, down again to show the full control center menu, then swipe back up twice to close the notification center. At this point the app selector should show up. However, swipe up may still not work correctly, in which case tap on an opened app via the selector to bring the app back to focus. Now, swipe controls should have reverted to normal. If all else fails, turning off the screen then unlocking usually works, although it may take more time as there's typically a delay after unlocking when this happens.

Multiple up-swipes (from the bottom) in quick succession also generally works and is a quicker workaround.

Chrome refuses to be swiped off screen

Disabling/Enabling the Chrome app just changes it from being 'off' and then back 'on' again, it doesn't actually alter the app's functionality. Since things were working OK previously and just became problem, it seems to be more of some kind of one-off glitchy behavior that requires something more than just toggling the app off and on.
Try what @ocnbrze suggested -- a phone restart is often all that's needed to clear up a simple software glitch, and clearing the app's cache is often the first thing to try.
But if neither of those things solves your problem, try using Clear data next. This is a bit more drastic as it wipes the Chrome app's config data and any changes you made to the app's Settings menu so you'll have to re-do them and possibly re-enter your user name/password if you had things like syncing with your desktop Chrome set up.

Next update on June 6th

You shouldn't have to tap in any specific location, anywhere near the middle of the back should do.

Do you have a case on your phone? Some cases might have a gap between the case and the phone body, and that could make it harder for the taps to be detected. You might also want to make sure that the Require stronger taps on the bottom of the Quick Tap settings page is disabled if you're having trouble.

I am such an idiot. Of course a case would interfere. Thanks for correcting me. :thumbsupdroid:

Phone as beacon

OK but not everyone lives in the same kind of setting as you apparently do. In the OP's posting, the assumption being they're out in a very sparsely populated area where cellular companies are very unlikely to provide any kind of service, if you don't test 911 accessibility (or whichever emergency number used in whatever country), it can be a matter of life or death. If there is a 911 call, that's not an emergency but with merit, it would be kind of scary to think that the dispatcher is so bad at their job that they're not able to figure out this needs to be done in certain locales. Having the ability to apply basic logic and make adult decisions is something of job requirement, that's part of the job as far as determining just what problem is and which first-responder service to have deployed. Or in this instance, the OP is doing a test that's pretty much a requirement.

Error after phone boots up

Moto E4. I see it appear automatically at any time doing anything a minute or two after the phone has booted up. I have an SD card that I haven't formatted. It works right out of the box. I don't know what you mean by internal or portable. All SD cards are portable.
you can format the card as internal on most devices with low internal storage capacities.

Help Connect to ADB

So there is no way to flash a regular version of android on this device? Is it locked for good? There is nothing to go around this?

One thing, there's no such thing as a regular version of Android, as Android must be built to suit a device's exact hardware setup and configuration.

Your device seems have a very restricted and locked build of Android on it, that can only do what it came with. There are other Android media players, like Sony Walkmans, that are more similar to smart-phones, but without the phone part, that can install and remove apps no problems. I think the device you've got there, has more in common with those Jpay prison tablets, i.e. it's a very customised(lobotomised) version of Android on it, that has no way in or go around....

You get what you see, and that's it.

Android is distributed as the AOSP(Android Open Source Project). The hardware manufacturers take the AOSP code to build and customise it for their devices and requirements, whether they be phones, tablets, media players, smart-TVs, electronic whiteboards, in-flight entertainments, kiosks, etc. etc. There's custom ROMs, but devs can only build those for the devices they have and know about, usually popular phones, like Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel.

Persistent drag shadows with mouse

I recently started using a Logitech Pebble Bluetooth mouse with my Hyundai HyTab Pro 10LA1 tablet, and it's a huge improvement over the touch interface. But there are a few annoyances I'd like to try to eliminate that are coming from the mouse interface in Android 10 itself (not caused by the mouse, although they only occur when using the mouse).

The most annoying thing is the creation of drag shadows, especially when I unintentionally select and start to drag a link by inadvertently moving the mouse a tiny amount while clicking on a link. In many cases, but far from all of them, if I immediately stop moving the mouse when I see the shadow appear, I can make the shadow go away by releasing the mouse key and then clicking on the shadow.

However, the shadow fairly frequently fails to respond to the click and becomes just about permanent on the screen (the only way I've found to get rid of a shadow once it's been created is to restart the tablet). When I say "permanent", I mean it stays there right in the location it was created, and I can't move it or change it in any way. Even if I switch to a different app than I was using when the shadow was created, it's still there in the same relative on-screen position in the other app. It also remains in place if I start a new app or switch to the home screen.

While these drag shadows are partially transparent, they're solid enough to interfere with being able to correctly see what's behind them, and even if they're not in the way of anything important, they're a huge pain in the ass (thank goodness I can click through the shadow to activate the link behind it). I've looked through all the settings on the tablet and have spent quite a bit of time searching with various carefully contrived search queries to absolutely no avail. The only links the searches turn up are to articles regarding how to programmatically control drag shadows when coding an app.

If anybody here is aware of any way to modify drag shadows in the OS itself (without writing a new app to do it), I'd really appreciate hearing about it. Even if I could just set the shadow transparency to near 100%, it would solve my problem.
Are you talking about the shadow that connects with the mouse cursor? Sometimes Logitech does imput in a little treat for others, I think you can just head over to settings if there is an app for it, and adjust it that way..

IPC Binder Android

I am having doubts with Android IPC binder.

I have two applications which I terms as client and server. Both of them are binded through binder and it's AIDL . Servers pumps data to client through aidl callback each 50ms. There are situation when server stops sending callback and client app hangs.

Can't determine why server stops sending callback and neither i am getting service died. Pid doesn't change for both client and server.

Question is how shall we get notified if callback not received or callback removed??

Can someone please help.

Help Wi-Fi calling and MMS

Something to keep in mind is when MMS is involved it often requires mobile data (cellular).
MMS is a very dated protocol that came about when phone service was more limited. WiFi Calling uses broadband connectivity, not cellular connectivity, so depending on a complicated mix of T-Mobile (your carrier) and the recipient's carrier, the text messaging app you're using, and your ISP it's not out of the ordinary for MMS messages not being transferred when you have WiFi Calling enabled -- when both WiFi and mobile data enabled, by default your phone uses WiFi connectivity as a priority over mobile data, so when you disable WiFi Calling, even when WiFi is still enabled, that simply changes your text messaging conduit back to cellular connectivity.
