I searched the web for this and from all I found the instructions if I understand correctly, are that the first Google account I create on the phone becomes the default and to change that I have remove all my Google accounts by going to 'Settings' then 'Google' then ' >' then 'Manage accounts on this device' then select each account and choose 'Remove account' and finally add the desired default account.
But I would like to know what happens if I remove only my default Google account from my phone when I have multiple accounts? I guess Google have to use one of the other accounts as default but which one?

Also when I go to 'Settings' then 'Google' then '>' Google shows a list of all Google accounts with the default account on top of the list separated with a line from the other accounts. There, if I press on any of the other accounts, I'm sent back to the previous screen 'Google' and the chosen account is now displayed on the place of the default account. This looks as if I'm replacing the default account with one of the other accounts just like that but I can't find anywhere on the web if that's actually what it is.

I just want to say thank you for your detailed reply to my 2nd message. I am going to confess that after I had installed bluemail and went to set up my sbcglobal account suddenly I remembered that ATT had wanted its users to set up an email key, which I had done. When I used that as the password then I was able to set up the account fine with bluemail and probably that was the problem all along. However, why didn't Yahoo (manages ATT email, as you probably know) just tell me that my password wasn't right!!!?? It would have saved me a ton of hassle.
You are so right about the Android issues. Every time I search on-line for a solution to some problem, it takes many tries to find a solution that actually works with my phone. Samsung's help is not all that helpful. I will follow your suggestion to use the Samsung back up. I had, some time back, used the Verizon back up and when I had a problem with my contacts, even a Verizon technician on the phone could not retrieve my contacts backup even though we could see that I had made the back up. So I definitely gave up on that!!

Looking at what I can get off the top... Nord N20 seems to be about the most I'd want to spend. Question is, can I root it? search results on XDA isn't telling me jack.

Well since you obviously are having issues with using the Google Photos app perhaps it will be more prudent to just stop using it. Uninstall the app, save yourself from all the frustrations you're having, and set up a different backup solution for your photo library that just works the way you want it to.

I've had the pixel 2,3 & 5 and can confirm that hey Google works on a locked phone. You just have to go into the settings and enable that feature.

The important question is whether it's just the display is dead or whether the touch function is dead too? Because if the touchscreen is operating you may be able to unlock it blind, if you can remember exactly where the keys/pattern dots on the lockscreen are.

Otherwise you might be able to do it if it supported USB OTG: I have recovered data from a phone in that state, entering a PIN using a USB keyboard (using cursor keys to select the numbers, practicing with a phone whose screen did work) and then further fiddling to pair a bluetooth mouse (so that I could drive the phone while mirroring the screen to a TV via USB). It took a lot of patience, but it was possible. However the problem here is in the words "if it supported USB OTG", because as far as I can see from some web searches this phone does not. And if it doesn't then you've no way of inputting any instructions to it if the touchscreen is dead.

Of course if the files are on a removable card then it's easy: remove the card and stick it in either another phone or a USB card reader. If you already have the phone set up for ADB and the computer pre-authorised you might be able to do something that way, but few people do. But if you have to unlock the screen to set anything up then you are probably out of luck unless you can get it repaired (without it being factory reset - official service centres tend to do that with all repairs).

Whenever you need to upload a photo to this forum, Facebook, Instagram, a dialogue box will open so you can pick a photo. It defaults to opening in the same folder, I want to change that default folder

Call waiting is handled by the carrier network, rather than the phone itself. And is usually controlled by sending certain MMI (*#...) codes from the phone's dialler. If you don't know the particular MMI codes your carrier uses for call waiting, then you'll need to talk to them, or look at their customer support website

maybe try clearing cache and data for the camera app.

also try making a screenshot of the popup if you can and post it here.

That is a really dated model, in its day a mediocre but usable tablet but in today's tech environment you need to really set your expectations a lot lower. Google stopped supporting it long ago so not only is the Android operating system really out of date, any apps you can manipulate and install will also be woefully outdated as independent developers rarely provide apps for Gingerbread now. On top of basic software issues, there are hardware limitations that can't be ignored either -- old processor CPU and GPU, below spec amount of RAM, very low amount of storage space, display resolution that can't cope with current web technology, it's battery is old too so general usage won't be too impressive at all and charging times increased, among all kinds of other issues.
Really, online interactions will be a problem as current web services have continued to advance past this tablet's capabilities. So you can keep trying to get this tablet to do things it just isn't able to do, or upgrade to a new or newer one that will just work as is.

Thanks for the info, lesson learned, in the trash it goes....

Our work PC has a 'fake Google' search (doesn't help the boss only understands Internet Explorer and no other browser) installed that redirects any attempt to search Google over to it. Perhaps some similar malware got installed that is acting like a VPN and redirecting sites in Chrome?

Does there happen to be a symbol of a key on the right side of the notification area? You might have to swipe down and look. It would be next to the wifi or LTE status.

There could also be some kind of 'cycle tracking' app that is installed, but that'd make more sense on a female's phone not a boyfriend's. Samsung Health offers such a feature if you're set to 'Female' or just did it to prove some type of 'I identify with being female' oddity.

It came via an update to the Google Photos app.

Unlike users of iDevices, we Pixel users don't have to wait for system updates to get new features.

But the headset does not listen all the time. The Voice channel only opens on request, like if I open Google assistant on the phone.

When I press the button on the headset currently it starts Bixby (or at least it tries at the moment but I have disabled Bixby but it still starts it even though it's not logged in)

I want this button to start Google assistant. That was the default behaviour on all previous phones.

I created a Web View App via Android Studio. I generated an apk (modstoapk.com) and installed it on the mobile phone. Successfully ran.
Then I needed to add Admob to it. After coding, Apk was generated without any errors. But when I installed the Apk, App crashed on the mobile phone. So I noticed and updated & sync Build.gradle is the reason for the crash.
So, How do I solve it?

Does the camera app not have a Settings option called Mirror reflection, or something similar? If it doesn't, try another camera app.

The screen-shot I've attached is from a Huawei phone with the stock camera app in Harmony OS 2.0.


The thing is, manufacturers tend to provide different options in their various camera apps.
