Ussd codes problem

To use these codes you type them into the dialer keypad. You should not need to press the call button.

However, some manufactures disable some of the codes. And if you bought your phone through a service provider they may also have removed some of them from the ROM, so if your experience is different from another user of the same phone that might be the reason. If the code is not supported by the phone software you are out of luck.

To give you an example, my Galaxy s21 supports the *#06# code, which will show the IMEI and serial number. But the *#*#4636#*#* code, to access the "testing" menu, does not work. So this is a case of a manufacturer removing one of the standard codes from its handsets (in my case a non-carrier UK model, which are generally far less locked-down than US carrier models).

Help find keyboard with CAPITAL letters only

I am interested in the caps only feature because I am using Android mobile barcode scanners in my manufacturing plant. The workers using these devices, which look like robust thick mobile phones, use a website that is part of our ERP system that they do transactions in. They have to tell the system when they are moving parts from a bin to another bin and all the part numbers and bin numbers are capital letters. So if the keyboard is not auto capitalized, you have to constantly tell it to make everything capital. These devices are used for nothing else. So if you all needed or wanted a legit use reason, there it is! I was gonna try Fleksy but also read it’s Russian and different? Is there really not a quick easy way to make this happen?

FYi Fleksy are actually in Barcelona, Spain, not Russia.

As for a keyboard that's always in UPPER-CASE LETTERS by default, I'm not aware of any. But apparently Fleksy does offer user customisation of keyboards, which might work for your uses. https://developers.fleksy.com/ Like maybe it could create you an UPPER-CASE only keyboard.

Adblocker not blocked by qustodia

I am looking for an adblocker app for android which is not automatically blocked by qustodia. Would anyone be able to advise me?

You probably cannot use both an adblocking app and the Qustodio app, it's a matter where you need to pick one or the other. The content filtering aspect that both utilities will rely upon as a background service on your mobile device creates a conflict since the two processes are attempting to use the same system resources.

For a more long, drawn out reason why you won't be able to have both apps running at the same time, it all boils down to a basic security aspect that's a part of every Android phone/tablet. With an Android device, all the user accounts are restricted with limited permission levels. That's a default. When we're initially setting up our Android devices, there's no option to set up a User account with root privileges. All our user accounts are protected and limited. It's not a like installing Windows where you can set up Administrator and User accounts, with Android it's predetermined and curated. So when you installed that Qustodio app, it only has user-level permissions on your device itself. You can manage your child's Qustodio service remotely but that's a different situation, on both devices the app does not have root-level permissions to the devices they're installed. That directly relates to the conflict issue between an ad-blocker app and the Qustodio app. Since both apps will be running with only user-level permissions, neither has access to the system-level networking processes that Android uses for online access. So with non-root apps that do any kind of function like content filtering, they have to rely on a stop-gap workaround, a local VPN service. Note this isn't a VPN service that you sign up with and uses remote online servers, this is just a single-purpose, local VPN service that runs solely within your mobile device -- the VPN is used to do the actual content filtering. Data packets get redirected and loop back through the VPN. The other issue is only one VPN service can run on an Android device, so that's why there's a conflict.

Help Trouble syncing Onedrive & Google drive files with desktop

OK, so taking into consideration you have rebooted your router that reduces the chance WiFi connectivity is the problem and there's likely to be some kind of network connectivity issue that still needs looking into. Either your broadband connection so look into your modem or your ISP's service to your home. Does this syncing issue happen when your phone is using WiFi or mobile data (cellular)? If the latter, that's a different online connection issue. If it happens while using both, that would indicate an issue with your phone.

Help An App for Car Crash Detection?

I think the OP meant for if his own car was involved in an accident. And was referring to the Google Personal Safety app in the Play Store, that is for Pixel devices only.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.safetyhub

"Car crash detection – get help calling emergency services after a car crash. If your phone detects that you've been in a car crash, it can call for help automatically."
ahhhh that makes sense. thanx for clearing that up.

Avoid any messages about data activation

I don't understand.
I have the data option disconnected too.
I refer to don't receive messages asking me to enable data connection.
Which is interesting because all my phone does if mobile data is off is tell me that I don't have a connection: I don't get an easy to accidentally hit "turn data on" button.

So does this happen with particular apps, or with anything and everything that uses data?

Are these GP6P or Android 12 behaviors?

1: Drop down notification menu:
One of things I liked about my older android models was that when notifications came in, and I pulled down on the desktop drop-down menu, I could click on any one of the notifications and it would go to that app, messages, email, website, etc, and also clear it from the drop down menu.
Now when I click on these notifications it merely clears them from the drop-down menu, but it doesn't take me to the app or website that the notification is alerting me to.

2: Maps:
Apparently my google assistant is using a different version or different path to maps, than my google maps app. Example: When I go directly to the maps app, I can enter text, or use voice typing in the search bar for things like, "Pizza near me", and it will default to my current location, and show me several options.

But when I "Hey google, show me pizza near me" it always defaults my location to my house, (Where I am understandably signed in on google), and the map looks like it is in night mode.
Are these two different maps? Older versions of android google assistant "Hey google" I've used would always default to my current location using GPS, and the map never appeared in night mode.

3: I mentioned this before, but I still haven't found a way to connect my "Hey google" command, with my chosen clock and alarm app, "Alarm Clock Extreme". When I say "Hey google! set a timer for 5 minutes" it always defaults to the android 12 stock app. I considered disabling it, but think it might mess up other apps or the phone in general.

These are all luxury problems I know, but the details....... Lol.

Thanks!

1. When I tap on an app's information in the Notification List, the app opens. Is it all your apps or just a few? Maybe it's the settings under Notifications? I have most apps turned on under "Settings", "Notifications" & "App settings".

2. With my maps, the way they display is determined by my phone's theme. When my theme is "Dark", so is the way the map shows. When I turn off "Dark", the map displays normally. As far as getting Google assistant to use your current location instead of your home, you might try saying, "Hey Google show me pizza near my current location". Also check if your location is turned on.

3. Can't help with this. I could get my phone to use a different app until the most recent update. Now, even if I disable the default app, Google overrides the disable and still uses the default app.

photo transfer question

well i did find out that it is from windows for some reason what was going on is when i plugged in the phone the pc and windows saw that and windows popped up some type of photo program that wanted me to pick and choose what to do with photos. so i clicked on the menu in that popup and went to settings and turned off corva and video and photos and everything else that had to do with images and gave it a try and now if it does popup it just goes away in a second so i can live with that i guess. this last time i want to send a photo to a local forum and when i plugged the pc into the phone that popup did not show up, so maybe now it will be ok. but i still have the question out for the win10 guys to see if there is a way to remove that from the program or if i can go into the registry and just turn it off.
thanks

Help I can not exit incognito mode in Samsung Galaxy Tab A8

Hello Dannydet,
Your screen image is very similar to what I have with the following exceptions. On my black screen, in the upper left hand corner the time is displayed and below the time is a "+" sign (that will create a new incognito tab when clicked on) but without the words "New tab". Also, in the upper right hand corner of my screen I have only the three vertical dots. The four icons and the dot above the the vertical three dots on your screen are absent on my screen.
Thank you very much for time.

looking for a photo app

ok thanks i found out that app not only will see photos on the device but also fids them on the sd card it is kind of a bare-bones app as it will not let me change the speed but hey it works. i found out that it loops so that is good and if you touch the screen it stops at that photo and then along the top it has dimly lit up an arrow that you touch and it starts from where it left off and starts looping again. the only thing is i do not think it is a bonafide asus app as when it first starts it has what looks like an ad. but you can x it out and it does not return.

so fo the most part i think it will do just fine. i can tap it to stop the looping and then swipe it to other photos if needed just in case someone wants to go back or forward to see what they missed. so i believe this is going to do the job just fine.

i only mention all this just in case others are looking for a similar type photo app that allows this to save time looking.

thanks
