Google Pixel 6 Reviews

While I don't have one, olbriar, my wife does.
She's not one to download a bunch of apps to play with, she does do the Facebook and YouTube.
When she first got it I was fairly impressed with it's performance but the lack of an MSD slot worried me. She takes a lot of pictures of our grandkids and has run out of space several times and had to clear out a bunch. No, she doesn't backup to Google and doesn't want to.
It's got a good camera that takes awesome pictures.
As long as she can get me to move her pictures to another drive I think she's gonna hang on to it until it dies.

MiX Explorer Unable to Access USB Drive

In your MiXplorer app's Settings menu, go to More Settings, and confirm that Enable OTG is checked. OTG is the default Android service for external USB devices. It probably is already enabled so if that is the case. try Solid Explorer. It's a very popular and feature-rich file manager app.
Enable OTG was NOT selected, so probably that is it. I will test later, and thanks for the other File Manager recommendation.

Help How safe are Uptodown and ApkPure?

You sound very elitist. Lots of software, video games, and operating systems require updates to fix issues or add features. Do you avoid those things as well?
Personally, I agree with his views.

There is nothing new.
Virtually everything that is considered 'new' has been done before.
Some 'kid' comes along and thinks he has made something better by making it out of plastic instead of steel, or overcomplicates something simple and thinks that is an improvement.

We have people working on vehicles that are completely lost if they cant connect a computer up to it to tell them what is wrong with it.
Then they have to watch Youtube videos to see how to replace/install something.
This is what passes as a modrrn day 'mechanic'.

Bluetooth tethering internet speed

I have my Z Fold 4 sharing it's internet connection with my Pixel 6a via bluetooth tethering.

How can I see what type of connection/download speeds I am getting? Is it throttled? My Fold will be connected to 5G network but the Pixel loads websites, emails, etc pretty slow.

Also, does the connection come from my unlimited data or will it use data from my allotted amount for mobile Hotspot? I think I have pole 20GB or something for mobile Hotspot data.

if you're tethering another device, that will be using the phone's mobile hotspot data.

For checking your connection speeds, Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test is often recommended as been reliable. Tethering by Bluetooth can be slow, due to the data limitations of that mode. Try using WiFi tethering instead.

Daily.Net: Playground & Brainstorming!

So who is actually responsible for updating the content on daily.net? Looks like it hasn't changed in weeks....
Right now, Daily.net is mostly a placeholder. That being said, we don't have a writing team... so it'll be more of a homepage with resources than a traditional "breaking news" site.

The goal would be to:
  • Maintain an updated, structured list of permagreen content (ex: Best Android Phones) that rotates
  • Produce a limited amount of high quality editorial content
  • Highlight the best threads from the forum and encourage participation
If we pull the trigger on a change, I'd be shooting for a Black Friday launch and try to schedule some "new content" starting January 1st. I'd love to collect a list of people interested in writing guest articles on any topic in our list of primary categories.

I've been flip-flopping immensely - like many of you, I'm nervous about venturing away from AndroidForums.com - but my latest idea would be:
  • AndroidForums.com becomes Daily.net with the forum on the home
  • The.Daily.Net becomes the "News" focused wordpress site
I've also considered moving AF to BigScreens.com and focusing on Phones, Tablets, TVs, monitors, etc... instead of Android... but that alienates users in a different way (flip phones or other form factors) and gives us a new set of different challenges. I'm not against it, though, and might prefer it. Still plenty of time to decide.

How do I format SD in FAT32?

DevCheck says "Filesystem sdfat". What is that?
If it says "sdfat" that means it's either exFAT, FAT32, or FAT16.

It might be possible to use ADB to get more info or format to FAT32. Or use a computer - Windows defaults to FAT32 if it's 32GB or smaller and exFAT for 64GB or larger so you might need 3rd party partitioning software.
