***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I would like to see at least one physical button for a panic mode.
For example; When you touch the wrong action on the phone you can cancel or stop that action.

There have been times when I hit the wrong contact and was able to stop it via a button.

I can't see why they can't do this with software buttons. I think you WILL be able to hit a button just like you're saying, in emergency situations. They will just be software buttons assigned to do carry out the functions that the hardware buttons currently do. Make sense? I could totally be wrong though.

There will be no way to stop an app without a hard button.
Without a hard button you will have to wait until the app loads to exit it.
Its like having a car with no brakes. It will stop after you hit something but what.

It will be really interesting to see how this pans out.

After using Honeycomb on my Transformer I am not worried about not having physical buttons. I prefer the way the buttons are embedded in the OS and they go away when doing most things media related. I don't see why they would not incorporate it in ICS and even improve it.

Gizmodo has received an invite to a Samsung press release on Oct. 11. They are speculating that it may be the nexus prime release!

I'm definitely calling the leaked vid a fake. Since when does Android ever list the version as "Ice Cream Sandwich" or "Froyo" or "Eclair"? It's 2.1, 2.2, 2.3.4 etc. My vote is a launcher with the addition of a build.prop edit for the Ice Cream Sandwich lingo. Pretty easy to do, just ask Incredible users who received the recent botched Gingerbread OTA. They effed up and left Sprint references in the build.prop. It has since been on hold pending edits.

"I've seen the light and greatness is coming! For those that said that Red shall never join the the fold

Just wait a little longer and you will be able to hold Though we expect red to always be screwing with a device and not let it free

But this time it's new, and all is different Because its coming in its its original iteration With fudge and fixins."

Sounds like vanilla ICS on Verizon is coming soon to me!

Poem? I don't know what that is lol. Glad you could make sense of that hodge podge of nonsensical sentences. I think he was loaded :)

Only thing I can understand is that it sounds like it will be come with touchwiz (fudge and fixins) but who knows doesn't make a darn bit of sense to me. These past few weeks have presented some of the worst poetry I have ever read in my life.

Here's an idea if you can't write poetry for crap just write in complete sentences!

Could this be the processor used in the nexus, if so it could make this phone that much better!

Samsung develops 32nm 1.5Ghz dual-core Exynos 4212 SoC

I told ya! :D

OR maybe even a brandnew Samsung owned Soc... remember when it's called Samsung Galaxy Nexus, it'll be like the Samsung Galaxy 2.5 and as we know every galaxy-flagship has got its own samsung-soc...

i could imagine a samsung-soc with dualcore 1.5-1.8 GHz

But i'm totally excited what GPU they use for "50% faster 3D graphics rendering"

And if this Soc really will be powering the Nexus Prime, or if its going to be in the Galaxy S3 next year (what some suggested)

What this seems to indicate is that it is coming with vanilla ICS to Verizon. It doesn't say anything about the hardware. He also is saying that we don't get more information until he hits 9k followers and until @teamandirc follows him again.

(I'm not saying anything judgmental out loud, but boy am I thinking it! :p)

And I said this before! You don't remember when I told Nexus in Verizon will get vanilla ICS. The same as the Droid. Huhuhuh! ;-)

Now everything fits together...

[1] First there was this 'product to be announced from samsung mobile' at CTIA in the category: Gamer & Entertainment Enthuasiast...

[2] Then there was this newer CTIA Samsung Mobile Unpacked & Google Ad... -> hints to Android ICS and the next Nexus device...

[3] and now this new exynos soc (exynos 4212) that has been designed for gaming (gaming, hm... remember [1]) with 30% better power efficience and up to 50% better GPU Power in 3D graphics rendering...

everything hints that the nexus prime, coming with the exynos 4212 soc, will be announced on 11th of october :)

[4] yeah you could think that this new soc is made for the Galaxy S3 (coming 1. half of 2012) but remember qualcomm and nvidia (for example) will be offering quadcore chips next year and samsung should do so, too

Furthermore the nexus prime is said to be the best android device at its release... and the new LTE-enabled (european) Galaxy S2-models like the new (nexus prime-equal) Galaxy S2 LTE HD will have those new soc and will arrive soon

I think I just made it official that I am no longer paying attention to the Vigor thread so I can try to make my DX hold off long enough for this...I'm liking what I'm hearing and praying its mostly true!

Ah spit! I got up early to tip this poem and someone beat me to it :p

I'm getting word from Droid Fans on facebook that the dude who got ICS with his Nexus S - and showed it off to the world - got his phone remote wiped by Google. If this is true, then we have truly seen the future.

And if the poem is true (no reason to believe it's not) then I'm more stoked than ever!

12 days of speculating to go!
