For those that care, out chart just got a heck of a lot more complex (take a look at the equation at the top of the box and compare it to previous). However, our fit is very very good now. So...YAY!

And just a side note, this predicts (ignoring error in the constants in the equation) a post count of about 70.5k (yes, that is seventy thousand) by the 85th day (aka the 27th of October). So get to it! :p

Seems we are getting most info on Prime from BMX, P3Droid and Steven's source. I wonder if BMX and P3Droid gave us this much info prior to Bionic release. If so, how accurately did it turn out for Bionic in the end?
 
Finding it odd that Verizon's newest phone Rhyme "rhymes" with Prime .. Maybe there's a pattern forming. Of course they couldn't be more polar opposites.
 
Pretty good day on the scene. Really wish we could get an official announcement on the release now. It'd be nice to have a known date to look forward to. Another Sammy vid would be the ticket right about now.

I don't know where you're getting thtat it's a year old CPU. It hasn't been used in any phone yet. Also, from concept to mass production, I'd be shocked if any CPU on the market wasn't 8 - 10 months out.



There will always be a better, faster, crisper device around the corner. As soon as we snatch this up, SGS 3 will be rumored and spec'd.

However, and this is a BIG however, I don't know when I will get another chance for a pure, vanilla, Google-updated phone on Verizon. It may never come again.

I'm snatching this up faster than a I'd grab a baby falling out of a window!

EXactly! The voice of reason, finally! Everyone step back from the cliff! First of all, most of us browse the net with 3G speeds currently and, to me, that's totally fast enough unless I'm tethered to my laptop (which charges the phone while I have it tethered via usb) downloading the entire Blu-ray rip7th season of The Office and I need those blazing 4G speeds. CHill out guys. For me, this phone will last all day. If I'm using 4G I'm going to be plugged in tethered. This battery life will be on par or better than any other LTE phone. This phone will be a speed demon and I assume that if you keep in on 3G most of the time you will all be able to get great battery life on par with the GSII. This phone will have a great 1.5ghz processor and we have NOTHING to complain about. As far as those hurt and disappointmented that this phone won't have the new Exynos in it, sorry you had your hearts set on it. It was always ONLY just a possibility. I'm perfectly fine with the OMAP. Look at it this way, we were hoping to get a Lamborgini but instead we had to settle for a Ferari. Boo hoo!

I dunno: this morning we all thought we were getting the Slime... now it's Prime again. I have no idea what we're gonna end up with, but my Droid & I want it!

I hate to post yet again, but I was referring to a chart detailing BMX and P3Droid's accuracy regarding Bionic rumors, so as to ascertain their potential accuracy regarding the Prime rumors.

First I apologize if this had been brought up yet but do you all remember that the Droid Bionic was originally supposed to be Tegra 2? It was later switched to the OMAP 4430 because it was rumored that the Tegra 2 did not play nice with LTE.

Now I have no idea as to the legitimacy of that claim but supposing it IS true, is it possible that the Exynos has the same problem? Maybe that is why VZW passed on the GS2 and why Samsung is giving them exclusivity, and why there are two rumored devices with two different rumored specs. I know many have brought up the possibility of a Droid Galaxy Nexus and a Nexus Prime, this could help give credence to this idea. Add that to the fact that the leaked Samsung roadmap had the i9250, or whatever it was, slated to be released in late november early december. That would give VZW some exclusivity time with the Driod Galaxy Nexus while compensating the other carriers for waiting by giving them the GSMarena specs.

I'm still not sure if it is reasoned thinking or daydreaming but that's my two cents. What do you guys think of my pie in the sky idea?

On the Tegra vs. LTE, this article speculates that that was a set of defective modems claiming later Tegras do just fine in the Galaxy tablet with LTE -

Nvidia Tegra 2 vs. TI OMAP 4, or why the Droid Bionic uses OMAP | ExtremeTech

As for speculations about the Exynos and its LTE performance, I wouldn't feel comfortable saying one way or the other.

Welcome to a pre-release thread :)

They ALL are like this.

The next phase is when the specs are OFFICIALLY released. If it's not the Exynos 4212 there will be a collective "I'm disappointed. This phone sucks" reverberation throughout this thread.

Some will love it, some will hate it, some will be mad at it, some will pass on it.

There will be people mad at a variety of things and some people "settling" for things. It will take on the feel of nobody being happy about anything lol.

For the most part it's come down to the processor and to another degree the SD slot. If it goes one way there will be people ecstatic if it goes another way people will be grumpy.

It's the nature of the beast. No thread can escape it....EVER lol

Me too! As soon as we get an official release date, I'm asking for it off. Or at the very least a half day. They're really good at my job about letting me do whatever I feel like.

Plus, the Verizon store closest to me is literally 5 minutes away. I'll be there with my face plastered to the glass, making eye contact with whoever looks at me to make them as uncomfortable as possible til they let me in! :)
 
Just a thought, am I the only one who has gotten all this leaked nexus stuff--wallpapers, audio, etc--and set all this up on their device, but day one of having the nexus will be spent changing wallpapers and ringtones to not stock? Example: I am using one of the NP wallpapers, and I geek everytime I look at my screen, but im all but certain I wont use this wallpaper on the actual NP.

My wife pre-ordered her iPhone 4 and got it a couple of days before it released in the store. I think it depends on how close their shipping center is to you.

If you pre-order, that may happen, plus you'll get the satisfaction of not having any stupid employees putting their paws on your phone, playing with it, take pictures, and then put it back as if nothing happened. :rolleyes:

Sorry if this has been asked already, but

Does anyone here have a Bionic or Galaxy S? If so, could you comment on the performance of the PowerVR SGX540 GPU?

Games have always been smooth on the iPhone 4/iPad, and my Droid X couldn't really handle things like Fruit Ninja without hitches. I'm interested in whether or not the OMAP 4460 will be able to handle games like Madden or those FPS 3D games
