The 10k chart:

For this, I did two models. One is the three term exponential that we have been using. The last point took too long, and it is off.

This next one uses a nine term A+B1*x+B2*x^2 + B3*x^3 ..... + B9*x^9 , where A is the intercept. It fits much better, but for various reasons (the post count < 0, the spike in the middle) is illogical and thus cannot be true. But it is interesting.

That is a big IF. Regardless, I would rather have stock ICS on a device that was optimized to run it rather than get it as an upgrade later. Also, I am in the camp that likes the thought of non-hardware buttons. It's cutting edge and the future of Android...I like that.

Never been into to rooting my phone, but I'm certainly open to it. Can anyone point me to a rooting 101 thread that goes over the basics?

Most of the time the procedure is device-specific so we will have to wait and see what the devs are able to do with the Moto. Many times they come up with a simple one-click solution though, so the process is usually quite easy.

Let us agree to never repeat that phrase, ok? :p

For those familiar, all I could hear in my head was Traveling Wilbury's Tweeter and The Monkey Man when I read that phrase.

Ace job on the chart, btw. :)

Live chat - will have to see what Rob & company has planned.

And you all know we're on IRC at #androidforums, yes?

But Atrix 2 is not using SAMOLED I think. The reason I doubt non-pentile in Razar is that it's using SAMOLED. Maybe those SAMOLED in Razr rumors were false and it's got non-pentile LCD like Atrix 2. I guess time will tell soon.

I get this. I know Atrix 2 isn't, but RAZR was rumored to be and Moto insiders on Howardforums basically assured may of us anti-pentile sorts that moto would move away from qHD pentile in general and that we would be happy with most all future moto phones after that move was made. They didn't really say there would be no new pentile phones, but that if there were they would be at a better ppi. Basically the fact the razr is qHD is the only reason I am saying it's not pentile. I myself would be surprised if it is in fact AMOLED and even though that has supposedly been leaked I would not be surprised if it is LCD.

If they incorporate this into NFC, it'll bring the same level of security to physical purchases. We still run risk when the waiter/waitress disappears with your CC for 5 minutes, that your information isn't being stolen. Not anymore! Can't wait to see what functionality Google Wallet brings!

Until the waitress steals your phone! (Unless someone installs NFC scanners at each table)

ok, i know im new here but after reading this i have a point that i believe has some merit regarding this...

does it concern anyone else that a moto device assumed to be running GB and a moto skin with bloat can have a bit better battery life than the nexus with a vanilla ICS?? it would seem to me that battery life is one of the top 3 things most of us use to help decide which phone to buy, and if it turns out that the bootloader is unlocked where a vanilla ICS can easily be ported over to the razr, the battery life would improve even more over the nexus and it may be worth consideration

That AND a microsd ;) Either should be a great device. For non rooters, the choice may be more difficult.

That's a leap. Moto is promising to unlock bootloaders "where carriers permit". What about Verizon's history makes you think they'd ever permit that??

But, if it did, the Galnexusaurus will still have the 720p advantage. That's too big of an advantage, in my mind.

Motorola seems to be going a bit backwards in their "progress".

This is what has me curious what they will do with our i515 version of the Nexus!?! I think we have a good argument for the RAZR and all other VZW phones if the Nexus comes unlocked in some way.

qHD nonPentile vs 720p Pentile is going to be CLOSE if you ask me. Add in the size of screen diff and I am guessing sharpness will be about exactly the same and near perfectly sharp for most of us. LCD vs AMOLED is not a huge deal for me, but I do prefer AMOLED a tiny bit.

Whoaaaa, is that known? That's one of my very few showstoppers.

Based on nothing more than intuition, I'd be astonished if RAZR had qHD PenTile. I can see having it on entry level phones for some time longer, but definitely not on a high end phone in the Age of Nexus (AoN).

The battery is confirmed. No word on extended cell easy swap, but not really replaceable options. Early leaked photos made it look like that would be an option, but the final press shots have me doubting that as I can't see how that would work and still look reasonable, but I may not be understanding how the back disassembles. If there is a nice extended cell and good looking back plate for it, I might consider this phone.

That is a big IF. Regardless, I would rather have stock ICS on a device that was optimized to run it rather than get it as an upgrade later. Also, I am in the camp that likes the thought of non-hardware buttons. It's cutting edge and the future of Android...I like that.

Both are OMAP of similar internals AFAIK so I am pretty sure ICS is optimized just as much for one as the other. I am kinda on the fence with the buttons. The 4.65" screen in a not much larger phone is what makes me like them. The carbon fiber and metal build along with Moto wireless reception with battery savvy is what has me perplexed. The rest really seems comparable.

Right on. I wonder how many people one hangout can handle. Wouldn't it be awesome if during the announcement they said, "This just in, the guys at Android forums just crashed our Google+ servers. Free Nexus' for everyone who was involved in the crash!"

... one can dream.

fixed that for you

I'm down for a Google hangout.

Should we make a G+ thread so everyone can add each other to Android circles of G+?

i have a circle called android forums just for that reason lol, even though i really dont know half of them in there, i see they have steven and a few others on theirs so i just go ahead and add them to the android forum circle ^_^
