Verizon / ad agency screw up = Nexaholics' win.

This will be my first android phone (coming from my Iphone 4). I do want the newest tech. I want an HD screen, and I get the pure google experience as opposed to sense, etc. But I could still use a little advice before I jump the gun..... Is the SGN $250 better than the Rezound???? That Costco deal does sound decent.

THE AD: Will probably force Verizon to issue a denial today and maybe show a price and release date. Funny. I think it is a big screw-up.
Thanks to both. So how is it? On WIFI only or using 3G or both? Jerky/laggy?
Someone is soooooooo fired! put up the wrong ad and outed that the Gnex got pushed. Big big no-no. Seems like a insanely huge mix up. Not impossible, just improbable. Go figure it happens to us!![]()
Ok boys and girls. I think BB finally passed out.
I'm calling it a night as well.
Til the morrow.
I think it's just a mistake. I think this might have been a plan (for black Friday pricing) that didn't happen and the ad didn't make it out of rotation. Someone at the ad network or VZW is about to get an ear full.
That, or it was done accidentally on purpose to help ensure everyone knows they were intending to launch by now.

What did I miss

I'm printing this ad and taking it to a vzw store tomorrow and asking for the phone.
Also, Han I have a question for u b/c ur a lawyer: If they wont give it to me can I sue them for false advertising or something?
Wait, but that's impossible. The 8th was set in stone from the moment the Nexus egg was fertilized by the Galaxy spermatozoa!
Most likely not. False advertising usually entails a breach of the implied or written warranty regarding the quality of the product, or the condition it's sold in. Not so much the price.
It's really weird contract law. When you see an ad, especially with no specific date indicated, it doesn't technically constitute an offer to sell it to you at that price, unless it has a specific individual it's directing it to (for example, if it says $199 to the first 10 customers! or $199 with the purchase of a screen protector! At that point, it's established a specific parameter and offer).
It doesn't really make sense, I know, but most law doesn't.
For example, you guys might have heard of a few cases where a large company made a typo and advertised a car or an airline ticket for a ridiculous price. People tried to sue them, and in the cases where a specific parameter wasn't set, the court ruled that the ad wasn't a contract, and the plaintiff lost. If they had said "Ticket to Cancun for $2.00 if you buy before 12pm", that would've been a contracted offer and the plaintiff would've won. But no parameter was set, so there was no case.
But if some of you feel very strongly about it, and Verizon ends up selling this at $299 and you feel like suing based on the ad, file a complaint with your State Attorney's office; sometimes there are loophole that protect you (Uniform Commercial Code). Also contact the Better Business Bureau.
But in the end, if the price difference is $100 and you decide to sue, you'd end up spending more in court costs and filing fees than if you just bent over and took it.
Oh, and good morning, everyone!!
Nice Black Friday avatar BB!Morning!
Note the tag "cmp=BAC-OM-111129-HOLIDAYSAMSUNG" in the Learn More url, which seems to point at a mysterious 11/29 date. Could it be the date the sale will go online?
Hate to admit it, but no, the Nexus isn't $250 better to me. The main advantage is ICS, but that'll come to Rezound eventually through HTC and probably a lot sooner from the ROM crowd.
Good point. I hadn't considered the down side to the $199 ad.I hate to be the negative nancy in all this, but does that $199 not concern anyon. I REALLY hope they are not putting out a 16Gb version before Christmas for $199, and then a 32Gb version in January. Just a small concern of mine, and probably won't happen
