Nothing doing at the few northern Virginia stores I contacted. On mentioned "third-party" websites are spreading those reports and nothing official. Anyone up in the Fairfax area have any good contacts with intel? I can't believe that I was pretty much saying "I want to just hand over my money to you" and they didn't want to do anything about it -- not even offer to take my number down or anything.

I'm glad there seems to be some good and solid leaks, but in my neck of the woods it's still an effort in frustration.

Don't know. I know the other day when I went in there and asked they told me they had idea about the release date. I would think if we don't see order info tonight then no preorder unless the info for the 12/9 is the preorder date which IMO seems like a weird preorder date. Or 12/9 is completely wrong.

Cryptonomicon is very thick, bounces between WWII and the present, has Alan Turing as a prominent character, and is one of my personal favorites. So, I hope you will find it as entrancing as I did. (It's one of those books that I re-read every few years.)

just searched on my razr, and you are right! i could never get them on my thunderbolt without using the backdoor method (turn on airplane mode, turn on wi-fi, then search the market). fixed my original post, thanks for the info!

oh, and no "that's what she said" or "giggity" jokes about my use of the phrase "backdoor method", please. :p
 
Just missed a call from verizon executive customer relations here in the midwest. I tried to call back and got the voicemail system. Upon calling verizon themselves they said they would email the rep who tried to contact me and make sure he called me right away regarding the galaxy nexus i inquired about.

Hopefully ill have some more good news whenever I get that call!

Not at the moment, still at work, but when I'm at home I am. I love my Tab, seriously. I'm also very excited t have a nice little family of Galaxy devices :D


Does anyone know if the BJ's ZW stands are considered corporate? If it's available Thurs, the only place I can get to on my lunch break is BJ's. :( And I really want my NE2 Living Social deal to work.

I stopped by a reseller in Alexandria and the guy said they had no idea; he just called back and said they'd have them available Thursday.

Stopped by the Fairfax one over the weekend, nothing.

Stopped by Best Buy at Fair City and they had no idea. Buddy used to work at that BB, but moved to the Woodbridge one, he said he still hadn't heard anything (but he didn't work today) so that could change tomorrow.

Hi there, fellow Northern Virginian. I have tried to get some info on the release too, but somehow no one at the corporate stores have even heard of Galaxy Nexus. Instead, one premium retailer in Burke confirmed this Friday's launch.
 
So, I'm getting a little worried since I HAVE to order this online (govt/biz account). Is there any chance that this will be instore only and online will follow at some later date?
 
Wooo!!!So, I just placed my order in through Jason (the guy who has the store in Maryland) I'm number 1 in line and put in a $100 deposit!!! Should be getting my paws on this baby soon!

ikr! my in-laws bought each of my boys iPad2's for their b-days last month, and they're getting one for my wife for xmas. i'm trying to think of a tactful way of telling them that, if they wanted, they could buy me the 32 gb Amethyst Gray Asus Eee Transformer Prime... so far, i'm coming up empty - and thinking that i'll just have to be untactful. :D :o

Yeah it does seem weird, but I've also heard that pre-order may be Friday for a release next week. In my opinion, until we hear it from the horses mouth, all this is just hearsay.
