Root Network connection issues

I think I got this.
Just relocked. Dling the ruu file.

Made it to the htc unlock!

Sweetness. I think we're coming down the home stretch here. Is it supposed to keep testing and rebooting to bootloader?

just tried to get twrp through goo manager. i get the little red triangle when trying to go bootloader then to recovery. it will not go into recovery via goo manager.

following along before I stick my head in this noose. Very helpful by the way to follow someone else's footprints in the snow.

Couple of questions -
1. usb debugging - on or off
2. At what point does phone get plugged into pc?

it wont flash from bootloader or through goo.

i get an error when trying to flash through cmd that says 'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command.

hmmm odd with goo manager.

and i think you will need to alter your hboot changed to accomodate fastboot commands. in the guide go to section 1, step 4 for instructions on how to do this. (the file you need is in step 3....i need to edit that)

Could also just install through the boot loader of he's s-off

Its a really good idea to get the right Hboot though. Fast boot is important

i was on hboot 1.15.

i understand that, but now that you have s-off you can change your hboot so that you can use fastboot commands if you want to. it is not necessary. just throwing out some options. like rxpert said you can flash the twrp recovery via bootloader.

OK - as usual I dove right in and with some stops and starts along the way got to step 11 but could not get the htcdev site to accept the token. I tried several times but i kept getting a 404 error page your looking for doesn't exist

you get this when trying to get to the site? or after you submit the token?

I had to.copy and paste one line at a time. Are you generating a code to send to HTC

Sounds as if you're not opening the command window from the correct folder.

I'm assuming you're doing this through Windows.

You must make sure that when you select "Open Command Window Here" (by holding down shift + pressing right click) that you're doing it inside the folder that contains the fastboot.exe file.

Also you need to make sure that the file that you want to flash (the TWRP recovery file) is inside this same folder.

EDIT: Also, this is probably a stupid suggestion on my part, but I have to cover all bases. I wanted to make sure you have downloaded sdk-tools that will allow you to fastboot into your phone. Here is the file (from the flashing kernel guide) here: our forums' mini-sdk

well - i may have screwed this up but I left linux and came back to windows. went to the htc dev site and repeated the process and got the token accepted. now i just have to figure out if 1. i can pick up in linux where i left off and 2. how to get the .bin file into the right folder. switching back to linux now. wish me luck
