Root 1984kbps!!speedtest.net results after a couple of tweaks

ok finnaly got it..updated to sprint prl 11115..thanks for the tut and to the guys who gave me help trying to change it...signal is stronger at home usally 0 to 1 bar ...now 2 to 4 bars..3g speed doesnt seem like its changed much..check it out tommorw when im running around at work : )
 
Finally broke 2k download speed. I was happy when I was getting 1 - 1.5k dl but still was quietly jealous of those seeing higher speeds. I'm one of the big kids now too! Thanks to all who have contributed to these tweaks and thanks to Ron for bringing them all together in this thread. I know I've seen some of these tweaks in other threads but on their own they did not make a big enough difference to motivate me to try them. 1984kbps dls on the other hand that I coveted lol. Great work!
 
Srill crap speeds, re flashed ctmod, 4g stuff is on and prl is 11115 and i get no boost, mostly less speed----dosnt make sence considering the day i tried it i got 1.4mbs now im getting worse then before

thats the way 3g is. you can do one speedtest and get 50kb then do another right away and get 1 mb. It will go up and down depending on the time of day and your location too

These tweaks will also not fix a crappy tower. I'm fairly certain that there are towers out there that only have 756Kbps up connections as it is. And then you have to divide that across the number of connections to that tower (- some loss for overhead for maintaining multiple connections)

You could just be getting crappy speeds because it's just bad timing, a bad tower, sunspots, phase of jupiter, etc
 
Ok well i leave for Portland Or tomorrow afternoon ill try there to. but one day i had 1.4Mbs no i am lucky to hit 100kbs and i was full sig at 10pm
 
i am having trouble conecting to cdma workshop. i did it yesterday but its not working today. it wont show as com port in device manager. i am on gingerbread ct mod. i put it on usb debug . changed to dm to usb. then changed to dm mode. can some one help? i put a prl that sucks and i want to change back. thanks

make sure your dial ##7678#
you have to dial ##7678# for gingerbread and select dm and your phone should reboot in dm mode

im on ctmod. rooted with nothing installed. ok so i did ##8778# ans selected usb. went back and did ##7678# and selected DM. phone rebooted. enabled usb debugging. i plug in the usb and i still dont see any com ports. maybe its the drivers. can some one post up some links?

Same thing happened to me, what i did was shut the phone off, opened up CDMA first, powered the phone back on, then put it into USB mode, and it read it. worked for me hope it works for u

I've got the CDMA Workshop 3.8.0 Demo working and connected to my phone... Apparently, all I need now is/are the correct .prl file(s) to test...

Where is a good place to get them?

Second.... With the version of CDMA I have, it appears that I need to drop the .prl file in the /Favorites/prl directory to make it selectable on the other tab... No browse option that I see..

Third... Can I actually write the file with the Demo? I can't read the current one on the demo...

I'm considering just buying a license... I'm pretty sure I'd like to own this software.
