Root 1984kbps!!speedtest.net results after a couple of tweaks

Sorry to be a naysayer, but 4gv ALWAYS reverts to something else upon reboot. I did this step at a time to make sure each step worked etc and noticed always after doing the 4gv change my upload hot horrible. Going through the same steps to verify my changes it always reverted my changes to wild and etc.

Am running ctmod not sure if that makes a difference. Perhaps geographical area matters too. Either way, it would be worth your while to verify the setting "stuck " if your having issues

After I found my port...
After I found the PRL I wanted...and pulled it up in the drop down menu..
It still said i needed the registered version...
Well, I didn't realize I had to enter my msl code in place of the six zeros at the top of the screen or that the 1st box had to be checked to enter it!!
I also had to go to File/Options and check the first box that said debug mode!
Hours of reading post after post, rereading posts that I read a dozen times before! I stumbled upon my own answer! By just pushing buttons! Hope this helps some frustrated readers. PM me if you need better descriptions of what I was speaking of.

Thanks I had to do the same thing lol :)

Ok I have tried 6 different prls and none of them reacher over 500kbs which kinda sucks but the ppings were a lot better then the 850-1500ms the boost mobile prl was giving me. so thats a plus now i just have to choose which of the 5 that worked am i going to go with. u have a choice between 2 at the moment since they gave me the best pings and best speed.

I have the best luck running 21083 on mine I have tried 7 different prls including the 11115 and 01115 and even the 00001 one. None of them went over 500kbs for me but i get a much nicer 100-300ms ping compared to the 850-1500ms ping i was getting with the boost prl that high ping was making my phone take forever to do anything online even tho the download speed was about 100-120kbs with the boost prl

are u using the ipv4 script

Yep... dropped the prl in the right directory and it showed up in the drop-down on write... No go... gotta have a registered copy...

Couldn't find one easily, so I bought one... waiting for it to process now from the CDMA Workshop author.... "Evaluation Version" that I could find and trust not to be infected was simply too hard/too risky to find.

Don't bother dropping the PRL file into the favorites folder. That option (seeing them in the drop down list for "write" button) is a paid / registered feature.

If the OP would update the instructions, the answer is to just press the "write" button (not "send" as currently reflected in the instructions) in the PRL section of the "other" tab. Ignore the drop down list that looks a part of the "write" button. If you just click on the "write" button, it will give you a dialog box to allow you to search for the PRL and then proceed to write it to your phone. -- No need to buy CDMA Workshop.

Hope this helps!

for everyone asking about the ipv4 script it will not work on the stock rom for the script needs init.d support, to return to default settings remove the script from the init.d folder and reboot the system should write the default values back.

Are there better prl's to use within a certain radius of your location or are they pretty much nationwide? I'm in CT and wonder if anyone else from CT use a certain prl with great results.

Downloaded the CDMA demo and my laptop says that my phone is on a double digit COM # . For those of you that have tried this already , you know that double digit COM #'s are for registered versions of CDMA ONLY . This SUX !! HMMMM , what 2 do ??

go to device manager look under ports and double click on the samsung usb diagnostic serial port. go to port settings, then advance. a window should popup with the ability to change the com port. switch to a port below 9 and thats not in use.

Worked like a charm after rebooting ! Thanks for the quick response . I was just getting ready to google it but decided to check back in here . I'm glad that I did . :D . How long does the DEMO of CDMA last ?

Those are getting hard to find . Most links I've tried have been removed or are bogus . Sure would be nice to have another full version . I lost the one I had when I had problems with my desktop . I'm still looking . :D

since this thread is growing I figured I'd put up some PRLs that I found from a good source. They are not hacked on or anything and I have tested them all myself. Just thought I might save someone some time. maybe ron580 might want to put them in the op?
