Trial and error, worst that can happen is you switch back to the boost one if a sprint one doesn't make a noticeable difference. (menu>settings> about phone> update> update prl)
Note: stock, ctmod, or other roms based on ct are needed to ota update

trial and error..is really the best method...i would download one and use it for a few days..if i didnt notice anything ..i would move on.. to the next one i tried like 10

Tried CM7 and a few other roms so had to go to boost default PRL before doing so and in the mean time my CDMA trial expired so stuck now on the default boost prl anyone know a way around the trial period without having to spend $100 to buy it.

Just change the com port of the samsung driver to a single digit that is not in use and you can use the trial version just fine to change the PRL.

They are out there but people can't post the links here in the Forum . You just gotta Google it .

has to be a port below 9 i thought

It does . Mine was reading on a COM above 9 . If it's reading above 9, you can go in to advanced options and change your COM port to something below 10 . :)

i have a cracked cdma workshop, if i upload it SOPA will take down this site lol

Man, that Open Signal is a cool app. I think they just put up a new Tower fairly close to me. Never connected to that one before. Got -86 easy most of the night. Dropped down into -76 and below for a while. Videos were sweet.

Going back up now. Still on Boost PRL.

So, new optimus just found a way to update your PRL in CM7 using ADB

This is a way around hidden menu because CM7 doesn't have hiddenmenu.apk

Plug your phone in to the computer
to enable DM mode
open a shell (adb shell)
at the # type: echo 1 > /sys/devices/virtual/usb_composite/diag/enable

Your pc will give the unplugged sound and your samsung driver will show up in the COM port in the device manager like so:
mavrikmeercat-albums-support-picture5278-dmmode.jpg

Now open CDMA Workshop and choose your PRL as you would normally

When your done, to disable your DM mode
open a shell
at the # type: echo 0 > /sys/devices/virtual/usb_composite/diag/enable
you will here the unplugged sound again, your COM port should dissappear, and ADB will go back to your home folder like so:
mavrikmeercat-albums-support-picture5279-dmmode2.jpg

then open a shell
#reboot
and you have your new PRL

All thanks go to new optimus for finding this and bringing it to our forums. If this helped you then you should go over to the Hroark's CM7 thread and hit his Thanks button Here

Hope the adb trick for Changing the PRL will work with CTMod as well. As I do not feel like paying at least $100 for CDMA workshop since my trial expired and I have moved and I am getting a very crappy signal here with the boost prl and I can not change it to a sprint one since I know sprint works very well out here but I do not have access to the towers around here

ADB just puts your phone into dm mode.. you still have to update the PRL with CDMA wshop..

That sucks as I do not have the money for the cdma when I wont be using most of the things on it. Considering the application is $100+
