Whats the one where youre at 96% on battery Skinny? Also which one shows the 4g lte icon. I dont have my phone yet but i bought a used for 25.00 and ive already downloaded Rom 8 and 9. Are these both OC`d. Looks awesome i cant wait to flash this
All roms on this forum that aren't discontinued (Warp OEM, HaloBean, DroidSmith, and now SkinnyHalo) have overclock to 1.8 GHz.
The one with the outstanding battery life is SkinnyHalo, because its so lightweight. On top of that, I've modified things around the rom that are in HaloBean 9's latest Release Candidate (which will soon be made final, somewhat...) to reduce power consumption even more and greatly increase the battery life.
However, the heavily themed version (HaloBean) is the one which shows the 4G LTE icon. I may or may not include it in SkinnyHalo, and if I do I'll make it easily removable. After extremely heavy testing though. I should mention, SkinnyHalo is going through everything I throw at it with flying colors!
Now it all comes down to choice. The Warp has a weird issue with anything Wi-Fi related, such that tethering broke from simply theming the rom. All my other changes didn't do anything to break wifi, except for the minimized power consumption which surprisingly didn't break it. This is the case with HaloBean ROM, specifically 9. This one doesn't have as much power saving capacity or raw speed like SkinnyHalo does, because its meant to provide a Jelly Bean experience for users while still maintaining speed and all. Its not easy knowing how easily things break. The only problems I've noticed in the latest release are with tethering. I suggest it if you are a light to medium user (as in, not too heavy gaming).
Next there is SkinnyHalo. I suggest this rom if you don't care so much for theming. This one is lightweight, slim, fast, and is all about power and functionality for all users. I've gone through and updated, fixed, and changed a few things from Halo ROM, which BLVCKHVLO gave me to continue; HaloBean is heavily based on the original Halo, so you'll note some similarities at the code level if you're ever to take the roms apart. This has a minimalist theme, but no 4G LTE icon.
Before you flash one of the roms, I suggest you review both carefully to make sure you pick the right one for the phone
if you're really going for a JB styled rom, go for HaloBean. If you are a power user, or you don't use your phone for much, go for SkinnyHalo.
STATUS UPDATE FOR EVERYONE: HaloBean 9, after settling in after a few days, is running great batterywise. Heavy texting, phone calls for a few hours a day, wifi on all day, and other stuff; no charger for 14 hours, and im at 51%
I still don't know about tethering on Halo however.
