Windows fails to start every time... I can't do anything at all not even take out data... I have to download an ISO and burn it (I found a legal one). Then fix the master boot record... I hope this works. Dm had the same issue so he's been a lot of help :D

That's good. I was thinking more along the lines of attaching the laptop drive to the desktop like a slave or external drive so you could get the data without booting it. What you're saying sounds good if I'm understanding right. I lost a boot sector once. For a long time afterward I would make a separate boot partition. Got out of the habit when I started having laptops
Good luck ;)

It might be because all my rom files and such were on a synchronized Copy folder in my laptop... but when I click on the link it downloads just fine on my PC.

Almost got all my data out, for now I'm running Ubuntu on a USB Flash Drive to get my data out my corrupted Windows partition. Hopefully I can find some way to wipe my hard drive clean and reinstall Windows properly tonight.

If its the mbr I believe you can fix that in ubuntu

Already tried everything... I already tried that and it wouldn't work because HP disabled a ton of options that I should be able to access for a situation like this in exchange for a system restore only approach... and even that didn't work. Can't reset mbr, cant reset BIOS, and I couldn't even install windows for some reason. I'll have to erase my hard drive completely and try to get windows that way. If this fails I'm just gonna get a new laptop from Asus because I don't wanna deal with more BS from HP and their crap Seagate hdds

Flashed it earlier today :) Very stable :D
Wi-Fi Connects instantly ;)
MMS - SMS Perfect, send and recieve :)
Capture pic option, Flawless. :D
I had to let a few apps update, but no big deal :p

You have a perfect Rom now:thumb: :knuddel:

EDIT: I have not checked USB and WI-FI tether yet.

Ummm...for future reference (as 'someone' once said):
"And On The Eighth Day, The Lord Made A Backup Copy."

just sayin'... ;)

Skinny you've just experienced the OEM curse.
When I get a new laptop I wipe the HDD (the OEM install partition too) and partition my HDD in half. Then windows on primary and save my work to secondary. I've been there a number of times when trying to fix computers.
BTW I'm using a 500gb HDD from a HP in my Toshiba LoL.

Flashed last night all iworking well like Libit said have had no issues with anything other than teather smooothness is at hand

I have backup copies of things on my cloud, so I was prepared for some damage ;) I was able to get the most important stuff out through Linux on a USB drive (it was about 60 GBs) then reinstall windows... its absolute crap and totally not tailored for my laptop. I asked my dad of he would buy me the recovery disc and he said I'd have to wait a bit, but at least this this will have a chance of getting fixed up soon. Besides I don't want to have to get a new one and end up on Windows 8. Ick.

A second partition to save work in... I'm definetely going to have to do that when I can get back up and running.
I'm using a 650gb, and I hate the Seagate HDDs that come with HP computers... they just never really work for me >_>

yea there is deff something in that app that not in the rom prolly a command line or permission script who knows ull find it i have faith haah

I can flash my nandroid of HB6 and everything is good as far as tether is concerned, flashing the lucky 13 and it is not, its the only thing not working.

That app I linked to is a beta, but it works great:)

Should ADB be turned off when not specifically called for? When it's enabled but not in use does it consume system resources or just sit around being inert?

Good question. I am a power user and if it does use resources, I would like to know myself.:) Skinny? Help us out!!:p
