Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] n00b (B10 based) VIII.II FULL Install 1/23/2013

All right ya'll, I haven't changed the ROM since it came out a month ago so I am a little surprised to see a sudden clump of users with issues on it...

I need some volunteers to test/check some different things:

  • send a picture mms to someone with boost, then another to someone on another network
  • send a text to someone on boost, then another to someone on another network

for those having issues, are you using the camera and mms I included in the ROM?

I need a couple volunteers with the issue to try:
  • update profile, update prl, try sending an mms in and out of network again with a picture
  • I would like to know if one of you with the issue is willing to do a reflash, then try the mms with picture in and out of network before adding any user apps/data

my gut tells me this is a network issue not a ROM issue, but I just want the facts.

I am sending some pics to buddies today to see if I have the issue, but I am pretty sure they go right through...

Edit: pic went through to my wife on boost.

I can't duplicate the issue, but I am running n00b VII right now LOL (or at least the beginnings of it)

I did this last night. Couldn't send to either via MMS, BUT could send texts just fine. I sent to someone on boost and someone on AT&T.


for those having issues, are you using the camera and mms I included in the ROM?

I use the ones included with the rom (I do use GO SMS, but always send MMS with stock Messaging)

Edit: I just tested sending to AT&T - went through. Just tested sending to Boost - Went through.

Hard to put it as a network issue, as I had my wife test while I was trying to send the photos lsat night...BUT Maybe it is an awkward network issue.
 
I have a fresh clean install, Total wipe of everything including sd card. I always use the messaging app included in the rom. So far today I sent pics to an i-phoney on verizon, went through.

Sent a pic to my GF on boost, went through.

Tried a third pic to a guy on att, started hanging on send, stays on send.

Hit airplane mode on/off, Click pic to edit, resend, went through.

IMO, network or boost issue, also had this same problem on other roms.

EDIT: I've installed alarm droid and setcpu only.

so so far two that were having the issue find it is either intermittent or working now, so I am still leaning to a network issue...

different model phones have different reception, my old galaxy prevail that my wife uses now sitting right next to my warp sometimes has better and sometimes has worse signal.

here is one more thing to try:

1. Open your dial pad and dial ##3282#, click view
2. Tap on Data Profile
3. Check the user name is the correct format, mine is: firstname_lastname@myboostmobile.sprintpcs.com

I think updating profile will pull down the correct one

I have heard of these being screwed up occasionally where there is an extra om at the end of .com (.comom).
 
I think this may be network also. I was having that trouble on ctmod and now alienwarp. I cant get 3g to stay constant and when it does its only like 60-140 kbs download.

I flashed 1.4ghz kernel. Txt msgs have always been fine. Since last nite, MMS was sporadic. I'm certain it's the network now. I was able to send a few MMS to Boost AT&T and T-Mobile users. Failing to receive msgs as it keeps switching to 1x on and off. Did receive two MMS: 1 Boost, 1 AT&T MMS in that time span.

Confirmed that Sprint users were also having trouble in the NY area.

No issues found. I tested:
- Send a picture to my wife's phone (boost mobile too).
- Send a picture to a friend in metropcs.
I have n00b VI, glitch_tst_krnl_zram.
 
It has to be a network. I'm in sw Florida and I have a boosted EVO 4g, my mom has a warp. Sent her like 5 mms messages and she didn't recieve a single 1. Installed chomp sms still nothing. Has to be network. Worked fine b4
 
I cant receive any right now either. I genuinely believe its a network issue. Either that or the kernel. Maybe we should all state which kernel we are on. I have oc 1.8

Happens on the original kernel the rom came with, and after flashing 1.7ghz for me.

And as stated before, Other roms I flashed have the same issue on different kernels.

My guess is a network issue.
 
I have just sent and received three MMS's on both stock and go SMS applications and all of them went through so mine somehow worked itself out.

Now my GPS is not working GRRRR!:mad:

Edit: that stupid 3G only app somehow put my phone to EvDo mode only.
GPS is good now. Still can't send MMS tho.
 
I just downloaded APN Manager to see my settings.
It says I don't even have one activated.
Could that be the problem??

Edit: Ok I went on ahead and added the Boost apn info into the APN manager aaanndd...WALA I'm getting MMS
