I thought the easiest way to do everything to the phone was to run the odin flash to stock 5.1 in the OP with root and bobzhome kernel. That made me get stuck at CWM boot loop. Pretty much every post after this one details it all
I ended up finding out it was broken later along with the stock sprint files from the flash back to stock thread. (here is a total stock sprint image) Incidentally the cwm odin for boost worked on my sprint from that thread.

......I don't think it was posted publicly in the thread but it was confirmed that the odin image was broken. The original file uploaded worked fine, but when downloaded and ran caused the exact issue I described on other units. It was probably taken down because of this.

If you want to do what the odin in this thread did I can outline all the details (with links).

However I am waiting for the new 6.0 version to come out before going through much more work on it personally.

JuanSolid, or anyone interested, we really need a how-to guide for newcommers to go right to and it explains what all you need to know about root, what cwm is and how to install, the best way we have so far to go back, what we have to get to 2.3.6, how to go back to unroot, what the benefit of having an OC kernel and what the best reports on setting cpu settings and what ROMS we have

Those usually take a great deal of maintaining. because of noob questions and keeping it with the latest info on whats out for the TU. You will be the go to guy for where it's at and how to do it. This is very productive because it lets us devs focus on what we do. every thread should have one. If you or anyone decides to do this, please let me know. I have a few things to add to make it very efficient and I'll get a moderator to make it a sticky os it's at the top of all things root.
 
After weeks of trying to figure out this gps problem that some of you are having i finally found the problem. The past few days i'have been trying to correct the issue which causes gps to fails but no luck. This is one unique bug thats been mind f***ing me the for a good while now.

The reason why some of you have gps and some dont is because if you go to settings then "location and security" and enable "use wireless networks" and uncheck "use gps satelites" and open the gps app it starts to work but if you uncheck "use wireless networks" and check "use gps satelite" and open the gps app it will not work. The wireless network feature uses 3g/wifi and the use satelite feature uses only the gps chip and satelites.

I understand that not everywhere you get access to 3g and sometimes depend on the use satelite feature but unfortunately its not working right now. Maybe some peope "lucky ones" has both features working but most dont.

Mavrickmeercat and i have decided to forget about this gps problem and concentrate on the future 6.0 update for the ROM. So far on our 6.0 build for shevron gps is working and we intend to keep it that way when its released.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused for anyone. 5.1 version of the ROM has a working gps so if you use gps on a daily basis 5.1 is the way to go.
 
I just wanted to say one more time that YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! The rom you all put out for the ultra was an awesome rom. But i have just ordered the new Evo Design. However, I will be keeping my fingers crossed that you all will switch over to the Design and put out another amazing rom.

P.S. I did donate to the cause 2 months ago and will donate again for an awesome rom for the Design.

sorry but its way too expensive, mavrickmerrcat and i dont have money like that to spend on a phone.
 
So I may have bricked my phone in the process of doing something that i shouldnt exactly of done.

Went in to get the unbrick files for this rom and the link is broken, any chance that we can get those fixed? or I can give my email address if someone by chance has the files for this. :(((

Sprint or boost?

Sorry those files seem to not be working right as some of the other users reported. I could help if you give some more info like can you still boot into download mode or recovery? if you can get into recovery then you can just restore your latest backup or the rom from the op. the only other method is to boot into download mode and use the files from Bads3ctor's Odin thread. if you can't do either of those then your only other option is to call samsung and try to make claim with them

Boost also i have cwm problem is that I have no way to load the rom onto my sd card when I go to mount usb storage on cwm menu I get the message E:unable to write to ums lunfile(no such file or directory) is there any way to just do this through Odin?

Get the comunity to buy us one and we would be happy to Put Shevron/Megatron on it.
the ZTE Warp comunity bought Hroark13 one in order for him to dev for it.
also LG Marquee community bought one for bloodawn so he could port CTMod.

I'm not a huge fan of HTC/ sense but I would if you guys wanted us too. Might not even be hard since HTC makes alot of their phones alike

I don't believe FC29 has anything to do with the GPS WiFi issues due to the fact that I have had problems with every rom I have installed to date on my TU except for Star Scrom. I added the 2.3.6 update found in these forums after I added the FC29 update and that's when my WiFi problems started (don't use GPS so can't say about it). I have wiped my phone all the way back to stock now with only CWM and I have 2.3.4. again with no WiFi problems, however I do show as still having the FC29 under about phone and no WiFi issues. An added bonus is that I still have the touch screen issue fixed also!
 
Installed this rom... it's pretty nice, a huge improvement over stock. I had some issues with go at first but that's over. But the android process system keeps crashing. Is there any fix for this? I tried fixing permissions and it ruined my setup, had to flash again lol

I had the exact same problem with the android system FC's. Did you try Mavrikmeerkats instructions a few pages or so back? Try that and lemme know how it goes, think I'm doing it in a bit.

Theres nothing we can do to stop the android system force close error as the carrier iq free kernel is trying to communicate with a carrier iq system. version 6.0 will have that fixed when released.
 
Thanks for the explanation on that problem, thought I saw it somewhere but couldn't remember. So everyone is having same issue?

I thought bobzhome kernel was based off the new kernel and fixed the touch screen issue. I dont remember having the ts issue with 5.1 and bobzhome kernel.

Yes bobs kernel is based off the new kernel that fixes the touch screen bug but before he updated it to the latest version there was a problem with the touchscreen settings "Samsungs fault" everyone had the touchscreen bug no matter what you say. Most likely you didnt realized it.
